Americas Sales Layoffs Update

As we heard from the teleprompter-led and the continued script only communication from Rachel, there are more layoffs coming after this week.

The timing of the next LR, but not the last, has been confirmed and it will be Week 1 of Q3. She is wanting everyone to help her to get to her number since she is projected to finish way short of plan.

Why would Rachel believing enterprise AMs not having enough accounts (by the way that doesn't make sense given areas in enterprise are having issues with having enough headcount to even cover accounts) mean there would be more cuts? Also where are you even hearing this? If anything, they'd move commercial accounts to enterprise, there are plenty that should be in enterprise anyway

@sal+1kcJ98f9 she isn't wrong that a lot of commercial account AMs do little to nothing at all and this is the reason for disastrous adoption of new technology or pure overselling of technology to commercial customers, and this isn't just the account managers either, you can find account SEs and PSSs who are practically no shows 90% of the time but still get paid, largely because they're paid against all the accounts in a region and not goaled on specific accounts.

The ELT and Sales management team at Cisco is a joke and everyone knows this, but Cisco has allowed account teams to get paid on non-strategic items while the extended teams which support them on the same technology can't retire quota at all for the same items an account team still gets 1:1 quota retirement, this is total bull and everyone knows it.

The last issue is we have a lot of old stuck in their ways account teams who simply cannot adapt to the new world we live in, so many grade 12, 20+ year employees are generally here for an easy paycheck, their usefulness at Cisco ended a long time ago and this needs to be fixed but if we are to fix the issues at this level, we need to fix the issues with the ELT as well.

Enterprise and Commercial will be taking the biggest cuts in Sales.

Rachel strongly believes that Enterprise AMs don’t have enough accounts.

As for Commercial, she has indicated that the Partners do the actual selling and AMs are not needed as much in Commercial.

Why do you think they are prolonging this. They are trying to model this.

As for the SAs, she is targeting a cut on number of SA positions by 25%. This fits right into EK’s disastrous C2E and Agile TSA.
