Retirement packages

Israeli employees are being offered retirement packages, what about us?

I am in the US, am retirement-eligible, and have been notified I'm being laid off.

What I'm being offered is the standard severance package plus anything that retirees are normally eligible to receive. It's not an enhanced/early retirement package but there are a couple of extra perks. Here are the only things I've found that matter.

  1. Retirees get a pro-rated 2023 APB paid out in 2024. Non-retirees get nothing unless their last day of employment is in Q2 - Q4, which is outside of the current layoff targets.
  2. Retirees get accelerated RSU vesting based on their specific retirement eligibility.

Corporations will f@ck on to you as much as the law will allow. Some countries protect their workers much better than the US does.
