I survived the last several rounds of layoffs and I feel horrible about it. Some of the best people on our team got cut and I'm still here, with less than two years under my belt. I know logically it's not my fault, but I can't shake this guilt every time I log on.

Don't feel guilty. It's all part of the master plan. Optum could care less about providing sub par services. All that matters are the dollar bills going into the exec's pockets and you can bet Optum will cut ALL expenses including experienced personnel to the detriment of its customers. Optum DOES NOT CARE.
Why feel guilty? You work for a corporate machine where profit is the only thing that matters. Feel bad for those that were let go but that is it. Nothing any of us can do.
Take meds : that’s what just about everyone at UHG and Optum do. Just think your managers, directors, VP’s are all hard core alcoholics, many being on multiple antidepressants , therapy etc. so if your still there join the club.
@OP What you're describing is called "survivor's remorse" and is very common. There is no shame in feeling guilt as you watch your colleagues get shoved out into the street while you remain standing there in the doorway. You can chat with a therapist or look for tools online that may help normalize those thoughts. What we're experiencing here is monstrous, of course it's going to trigger your empathy is different ways that may not make rational sense.
The people that got laid off will have a higher salary, bonus and merit than you next year. Not to mention a 401k match more than yours.
@a8 Facts. Hope that helps OP.
Bruh, please. Spare us. Now if you threw someone under the bus or did something shady that cost someone their job, then you should feel guilty. But if this is garden variety survivor's guilt, buck up and move on.
@OP don't worry you will be the next one after you train offshore
This OP post cannot be real. It's AI off the rails right?
@OP if you are ridden by guilt over work stuff then you need medications.
@a8 I am happily paid what I’m paid to be a lower employee who doesn’t have the stress of every one else :-) I do my max 8 hours and log out. I take breaks. I rather do this and be remote than be paid more have to go into an office or be bullied all day by this company or anyone else. But good luck thinking you are above everyone else… enjoy that office space and/or stress level you got :-)
I mean why would you feel bad? Not a decision you made. A close team mate was laid off but I still have to fend for my family. I’m not going to be guilted by a greedy corp. I’m here for a paycheck not a work family.
congrats, you now know you were the lowest paid pea in the pod
@OP - respectfully, your day is coming. Start planning.
