Thread regarding Wayfair Inc. layoffs

The sole purpose of L2 is to find reasons to fire you

Management seems to be he-l bent on finding reasons to fire you, they never give positive feedback. Only time you hear from them is when they accuse you in the wrong or they find stuff to write you up. They dont coach for success, its coaching to destroy you. Wayfair used to be a decent place to work and management used to be supportive but the new culture is very destructive.

I was in CARE for years before we were all demoted to this Multi Contact rubbish and then fired from this pathetically toxic company several weeks ago and frankly, it’s been a much needed breath of fresh air.
The so called leadership
Is utterly clueless or they’re running the US customer service dept into the ground on purpose.
Either way they’re liars and snakes.
Take heart people, Wayfair isn’t the only company to work for.
Get your resume out there.

As a former L2 I will tell you TM is just as bad as directors.. They are very much just trying to fire people to avoid larger lay offs.. This whole thread couldn’t be more spot on.. any L-2s trying to advocate for L-1s will be fired..

Wayfair is beyond toxic do yourself a favor and find something else and move on..

Heres a new reason to be fired, working too hard and too quickly.

@by Are you suggesting that L2s dictate layoffs? That is a very naive take.

This perspective isn’t accurate and comes across as more speculative than factual. At Wayfair, L2s are ultimately responsible for addressing L1 performance metrics, and in many cases, they are working to manage or mitigate underperformance within their teams.

In reality, performance targets are set by upper management, and L1 outcomes reflect whether those expectations are met. When targets aren’t achieved, the accountability typically sits at the L1 level, where execution takes place. That is not always fair but more than often, it is.

Do you not realize that L2s have no power or say in anything. Many of us have tried to fight to improve things for L1s only to get written up ourselves. We have stopped fighting as we have to look after our own families.

I know so many co-workers going through the same thing. They all feel targeted and have proof that the accusations are not true. Some of these managers have accused them of things that are not true. Maybe TM needs involved.

I'm sorry things have gotten that bad for you there. I am in the group that was laid off in January, most of us have not found another job yet. It would be smart to update your resume, reach out to people you know. Find something that makes you at least content before you get laid off.

Totally agree. I thought it was just my manager at first. I was put on a PIP and I didn’t get any extra coaching or even extended time just 30 mins. Back in the day it was like once a week for an hour. This is their way of making sure there are less people to layoff in the future.
