@4an AS introduced himself to the IC team about 3 weeks ago.
Highlights:
He loves rollercoasters!
He wants to generate excitement for the executives about IC!
He wants to give us more opportunities to have fun with family and coworkers using the discretionary funding budget (e.g. zoo day)!
He displayed his vast engineering aptitude by explaining the success and lessons learned from his first real engineering job project... he designed a box for a system and verified his CAD model and everything was great until a lowly technician told him it would not work and would not fit into the installation area on the system.. he challenged the technician and the technician proved him wrong by showing him the installation site (i.e. a hole in the system for the box)... AS has a BS in mechanical engineering and a MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He failed to design a form, fit and function subsystem...
We are about to find out what he can do his MBA and business acumen!
During Q&A:
What qualifies you for your new leadership role?
AS replied he was excited about the opportunity and his excitement alone was the basis for his selection!
No plans to sell off IC or parts of IC at this time!
IC HR Director confirmed no combined 160 hour cap on vacation and sick policy!
My personal and team's engagement and excitement is off the charts!
A new hope has arrived in the form of a 31 year old President of IC!
Since the AS introduction about 3 weeks ago, IC sector budgets were cut by executive leadership. Funding and personnel rerouted to support failing IC programs. Talent is rolling off to other programs/sectors as well. IRADs paused or shutdown indefinitely. Layoffs rumors heating up inside and outside of IC sector. Reorganization rumors heating up due to sale/IPO of former Aerojet businesses.
Corporate HR just threw their Hail Mary Pass... "Career Days" this week to help with career growth and progression and sent out a list of high priority open staffing requisitions!
I guess all that "rationalizing" and desired attrition is finally catching up!
Buckle up buttercup!
The IC and L3H rollercoasters might be "going off the rails on a crazy train!"
Cue up Randy Rhoads epic guitar solo!!
