Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Google Rumor

I heard we are switching back to Microsoft 365 since Google is not streamlined, adds more steps, and prevents simple tasks. Has anyone heard this too?

These are not my words but a copy and paste:
AI is making many mistakes, especially in testing and validation. In many organizations, employees are becoming overly dependent on AI and are gradually losing fundamental problem-solving skills. AI is a tool, not a complete solution. Without strong domain knowledge and fundamentals, AI-generated results can be inaccurate and sometimes create bigger issues than they solve.

Many companies are rushing to automate everything with AI, but blindly trusting AI outputs can lead to costly mistakes, rework, and quality problems. In addition, the increasing use of AI models results in higher token consumption, growing infrastructure costs, and expensive subscription fees.

The most effective approach is to use AI as an assistant while keeping experienced employees involved in critical thinking, verification, testing, and decision-making. Human expertise combined with AI is far more valuable than relying entirely on AI

50% of the emails I send to customers do not actually reach said customer. I’m the face of Canon, and I’m terribly embarrassed each day, which leads to volatile folks yelling at me on that daily basis. I have documentation, I speak to my branch manager, director, and whoever the extra layer is at that time. Nothing happens. I continue to be harassed, even with me officially reporting it, to absolute silence. The 4 layers of managers aren’t saying a word or supporting sales. They also are not allowing any of us to apply for a different role internally to be promoted. I’ve consulted an attorney, and advise you to do the same.

I have been working to adapt and to learn. Unfortunately, Google Workspace cannot even compete with Microsoft. There may be a time and a place in the future to switch but right now it just feels like we are more like guinea pigs and we went back in time.et. Google is 'ok' to say the least. I know we won't switch back but perhaps there can be upgrades completed quickly to make it more manageable.

@s8 Be sure you do the survey saying you don’t want the downgraded Chromebook.

Nah, not with discussions happening about Chromebook, like we’re in elementary school.

You probably should have been paying more attention to the rumor that the rest of the Microsoft infrastructure and licenses we have will be shut down by the end of this year

Are we running out of lay off rumors and jumping over to google now?

There’s absolutely no way they’d reverse course now.

Do you really think they would admit failure? They are too pig headed and bragged about how wonderful Google was, then all of a sudden they’ll do a complete 180?

The amount of humiliation they would face from that would be too much for them to endure. Nobody would trust a word that comes out of their mouths ever again (not that many still do).

I wish people would stop spreading BS rumors on here without considering the practicality of what you are stating.

Don’t get me wrong, I despise Google, but it’s not happening so don’t get people all worked up.

I mean, if they can terminate their contract with Google as easily as customers can terminate their service contracts, then by all means do it. Contracts apparently aren’t legally binding documents at Canon. The customers are always requesting to get out of their contract. Bada bing, bada bo-m, no problem, customer accommodations approved like hotcakes flying off the griddle at IHOP,

And the numbskull who pushed this switch to Google should be shown the freaking door, if true. Adapt to that, Sammy Sun!
