Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

FIS: Cloud Academy Skill Builder .. why?

FIS is making fool of US based employees by providing Cloud Academy or Skill Builder etc.

The management has made clear that all the hiring will be done in India/ Philippines.

US based employees can spend time in learning, but they will never get chance to apply the gained knowledge.

FIS is providing this benefit, in case employees start class action that they were not provided growth opportunities. FIS will provide SkillBuilder / cloud Academy as cover to say that opportunities were provided

As a leader in cloud for 20+ years now, I've never seen such incompetence in my life. These childish training courses instead of letting proven leaders in the area build and enable our internal partners with what they need to succeed are being provided to check a box when in actuality they are totally useless and not pertinent to their actual roles or responsibilities at FIS or even part of Cloud Enablement.

@OP An email we received from Cognizant is that they are also “shifting” their model to integrate “AI,” where a human inputs code to run automation and then a (presumably offshore) resource monitors it. Which makes sense considering Cognizant didn’t realize 95% of the rebadged resources are customer facing.
