Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

No, you're not safe

If you are at FIS, just assume you are on the chopping block no matter what. Good performance, glowing reviews, even being tight with your manager, none of it matters. You are a number in a spreadsheet and the moment it gets too high for comfort, they will show you the door. Better to accept that now than get blindsided later.

@a5 My cog letter had the phrase “employment at will”. You should read yours carefully.

Perhaps someone can speak on whether lay offs can be rescinded? The understanding is that they can be extended, but once given, they cannot be rescinded.

The less we expect, the less we will be disappointed. This is not a company where things make sense. Stay and use time to learn things you didn’t have time to learn; get prepared so once they come to take you, you are ready.

@a5 I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience at Cognizant; however, I would say it is not likely unless they are rescinding the June 30th/August 31st layoffs. The offshore resources work day ends at 12:30pm Central. They are not working nights or weekends. I don’t see how FIS could continue to perform conversions after the August 31st date unless they are ki-ling/selling off applications. My application area has eight conversions and five deconversions after September 1st.

Do you think they would do an early termination of Cognizant contracts?
