I was fired yesterday and wondering if anyone else on the same boat?

Got laid off last week after 10 years of work.
My manager joined the regular 1x1 on Tuesday and started reading "the script" . After that, crickets.
My VP, with whom I worked for a number of years, didn't even acknowledge me. So much for all the late night calls and weekend escalations. Not even a private reply to a goodbye email. Meh.

Has anyone else been future fired? At least one of us will be shown the door in October.

Very inconsistent when it came to time and attendance, some warnings deleted others were reprimanded for being late.

Our manager went on leave and let us know a few days later through email he was no longer with the company. Now we're sitting here without a manager not sure if he was fired, laid off, or just left on his own. Frankly, he wasn't a great guy so I don't really care about him, but it'd be good to know if it's a sign of something to come for my team.

For the past week and for 1 more week, there is a police officer as part of the security team at one of the buildings, and 5 or 6 front row parking spots blocked off/reserved for certain employees impacted in this incident. (Although they seem to not be coming into office since most are empty). Rumor has it that an employee was fired on 6/12 and that employee made threats to other employees and/ management. Anyone have insights to what actually happened?

What if I put in for vsp and got denied because boss felt like saying no. Another round of layoffs come and there’s no enhanced benefit but now I really get laid off. I got sc--wed out of the first one because somebody decided not to approve me. Can’t I fight to get that since I volunteered for it in the first place?

Wondering when I should start looking out. Waiting for the layoff meeting is always a good time!

I was hired a few weeks before the hiring freeze and haven’t built up a cushion to survive off of yet. I just graduated and moved here for the job. I’ll be royally sc--wed if I get cut whenever they start doing actual layoffs 😬

reorganization fired the first day !

Former employee here. Just tried applying for a position that I’m overly qualified for and didn’t even get a call back. I’ve heard rumors of former employees being blacklisted, but does anyone have any proof?

Today I and several other people in Citi Frad division were laid off as well as representatives in Quality. The average tenure of those dismissed was 4 yrs or over. It is devastating and I’m just still in shock.

If you are at FIS, just assume you are on the chopping block no matter what. Good performance, glowing reviews, even being tight with your manager, none of it matters. You are a number in a spreadsheet and the moment it gets too high for comfort, they will show you the door. Better to accept that now than get blindsided later.

People were let go with no warning. None. That's the scariest part of this whole thing to me. If there had been at least some indicator, something. But being a high performer and one of the most experienced people there, only to have the rug pulled out from under you like that... I feel so bad for them.

If you’ve ever met the team leads of Home Delivery such Fax or Document Management team, they should lay them off. Never i have ever seen team tech leads do absolutely nothing in the office, finding ways to avoid work as well as tormenting employees in front of management to show how powerful they are. No wonder Home Delivery is losing funding. You guys are paying employees to sit around and do nothing

That's the official termination date for people cut back in March. So is this a mix-up, or is another round really coming that soon? More layoffs are inevitable, I just want to know if another bloodbath is right around the corner.

In my org, two people were shown the door yesterday. It wasn't a layoff but outright firing. This is after another person was fired a few months ago. I won't lie, the whole thing is making me very nervous. Is this something that's been happening more lately throughout the company?

My manager found out I've been job hunting and that I took some time to go to a job interview (side note, I was an id--t - do not tell your coworkers anything, they'll use it to their advantage in a second). How sc--wed am I? If the interview went well I wouldn't have cared, but it didn't, so as of now, I have no backup.

I'm the only person cut from my entire group, and when I asked my manager why, he couldn't give me an answer. He told me I was a top performer, that my skills were exactly what the project needed, and that the project itself is a priority. None of it adds up, and I don't understand why this happened.

Senior Director: Its not about performance that we lay you off.
Me: ok.....
Senior Director: Is there anything we can help you?
Me: Yes, don't lay me off...... (I just be nice and didn't say that)

Not to sound like a person‘s paranoid… But as they say, if it’s true, you’re not paranoid: has anybody posted anything on this site and then found out and fired?

He wasn't laid off, he was fired. Nobody seems to know why, and I honestly can't think of a single thing that could have caused it. He's (well, was) one of our hardest workers. Is this something we should now be scared of as well? Random firings for no good reason?

Is there a way to tell if someone got fired on the term report?

Any mainframe developers affected in this layoff?

My colleague was fired today, apparently she was coming into the office 4 days a week but only stayed for 5-10 minutes..

Not sure how they noticed but watch out.
