Microsoft Eyes More Layoffs Beyond Xbox
Microsoft is reportedly preparing to cut thousands of jobs as early as next week. These layoffs could affect less than 2.5% of its total workforce. Xbox, sales, and consulting roles are expected to be impacted. This move follows a pattern of tech giants trimming traditional headcount. The timing aligns with Microsoft's fiscal year-end budget review.

Don't know why my team is rushing to restructure
Don't know what got into our organization lately. They're moving all the leads into completely unfamiliar areas instead of letting them work on what they know best. The whole org just feels more and more chaotic. It feels like leadership has turned everything upside down. More people are leaving on their own, and layoffs keep happening too. I honestly don't know what management is thinking. Almost everyone in the org is disappointed with all these changes. Nobody seems to understand why they're doing this, but at the same time, it feels like if you push back or question anything, you're just putting a target on your back.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Forcing people to quit doesn't seem realistic, and if they keep laying people off, there won't be anyone left to do the work. The whole org is going to literally fall apart.
LayofforResign
When layoff news haunts a company all year, employees don’t wait to be pushed — they leave before the door closes on them.
ATT: High turnover rate. ( Reddit )
ATT: High turnover rate. ( Reddit )
It genuinely makes me sad their turnover is high, especially at the authorized retail level. There’s so many things that don’t get taken into consideration when it comes to selling, such as demographics for one thing. Foot traffic alone doesn’t tell the whole story. I know someone who might lose their job bc they can’t meet the sales goals when they are brand new, 3 months in, and when they won’t scam customers, though others in the store will, by adding lines without consent. This person was so excited for this job, and they were also not told up front they would be fired if they didn’t meet goal after three months. They went into this job being told one thing, and it being something else. Now they are disillusioned. What a shame. I wonder how many really good employees have been lost bc of bad scheduling and these hard to reach metrics without scamming people.

I also know someone in sales that can attest to the scamming CRAMMING and fraudulent sales tactics that ATT pressures and intimidates its sales employees to perpetuate in the unrelenting pursuit of false metrics and sales quotas. The SCAM is out in the open and ATT makes no attempt at hiding it.
Countdown to extinction
They get rid of all the sales reps, they start writing everyone up working them 12-13 hour days, they quit...reps leave October, MOW stay until Jan 1st to make it smoother transition...then we are done like the elves.
South Country Schools Cut Staff Amid Budget Crisis
The South Country school district faced a significant fiscal crisis. Officials projected a $10 million deficit by the end of June. The approved 2026-27 budget includes 94.5 staff position cuts. Programs in art, music, and sports were also eliminated or reduced. State intervention provided a fiscal recovery package to the district.

I wish I'd been cut
I made it through the layoff the last few times and now I'm drowning in everyone else's work.
The best people aren't complaining, they're leaving
Nobody's hearing the top performers gripe about how bad things are, and that's not because they're fine with it. They're just quietly working their networks, sending out applications, and planning their escape without making a scene. By the time leadership realizes they're gone, it'll be too late because all the people who actually carried the weight will have already found their way out.
Community Health Centers Announce 23 Layoffs
Community Health Centers of Lane County are laying off staff. These changes impact twenty-three positions. The organization faces a large financial deficit. A $2 million deficit is forecast for the next fiscal year. Declining revenue and rising costs contribute to this gap.

Time for musical chairs!
Who will be out???
ITV hit hard
Lots let go in ITV, many at Sr levels.
Everyone's leaving
Everyone - and I mean every single person - on my team is job hunting. Not all with the same urgency, but all of them. Leadership doesn't seem to notice or care. I think we'll see a major exodus of talent as soon as the job market improves even slightly. I bet they notice then.
BNY - to serve mankind
In 2023, BNYM had 53,400 FT employees. In the annual report for 2025, there were 48,100 FT employees. Today there are 47,200 and dropping. That’s $1B in cash cuts being counted as profit!!! BNY is hiding poor negative cash flow without truly running and growing the business!!!!! BNY has reduced headcount 12% in 3 years and AI has had nothing to do with it. It’s easy to say your BMI is lower if you cut off a leg. It however doesn’t mean you are able and healthy. Of the 6200 FTE’s who have been consumed by Robin’s ‘cannibits’ , you can be assured that a very high percentage of these were so called bottom performers…..
Yes, RV’s strategy is the ‘serve mankind cookbook’ from the ‘Twilight Zone’.
Network - Surplus then Org w Vacancies
I can't believe they just did a big surplus on Wednesday and then sent out a new org announcement with a lot of vacancies in it at L3/L4. And promoting someone. (Walters org)
Tone deaf and insulting to teams who are losing really good people due to location, RTO, presence.

Getting rid of flagship
Another 67 employees probably have zero job..
The Future Workforce Problem
Over 70% of AT&T employees are over 50 years old… Let that sink in.
This company is rapidly approaching a point where a huge percentage of its workforce will be eligible for retirement, taking decades of knowledge and experience with them.
Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. You’d replace them with the next generation of talent.
But that’s the problem.
AT&T has made itself deeply unattractive to many professionals under 40. Five-day RTO. Presence reports. Badge tracking. Relocations. Constant uncertainty. Policies that feel like they’re from 40 years ago, not 2026.
The people leaving aren’t the ones with no options. They’re the ones who do have options. The ones with the skills they want to keep around.
And the people choosing where to start or build their careers are increasingly choosing somewhere else. The applications here have never been lower.
Leadership seems convinced employees are interchangeable. They aren’t.
You can replace a body. You can’t replace experience. You can’t replace institutional knowledge. And you can’t force talented people to join a company they don’t want to work for.
That’s the real risk….
Five years from now, what does this workforce look like if retirements accelerate, experienced employees keep leaving, and younger talent keeps looking elsewhere?
The answer should concern everyone, especially you, Stink!
The solution isn’t complicated… end five-day RTO, ki-l the presence reports, and start making this company a place people actually want to work again.
Because right now we’re not just losing today’s talent, we’re losing tomorrow’s too.
This company is #3 out of the big 3 in telecom with no chance of ever becoming #1 again. Things are headed downhill fast and this company is circling the drain. Time to make a change before it’s too late. Your move, Stinky-Legg and Gerbil Jeffy McSelfish!
Video Game Sector Experiences Significant Workforce Reductions
The global video game industry has recorded around 3,700 verified job losses in 2026. Total cuts likely exceed 4,000 when unverified reductions are included. The United States accounts for most layoffs, with Epic Games cutting about 1,000 roles. Bungie announced plans to lay off roughly 400 people. Ubisoft also cut around 680 jobs as part of a sweeping restructuring.

They are getting people to quit
Seeing multiple leads and SMEs leave with no back fills posted. 2 Directors in IT already leaving in the next week. Nothing posted so no competitive chance for a promotion for someone in their team. Implosion
RAN impacted?
We can’t wait to get outta here….behind this trapped door
Layoffs, are you kidding?
They can't keep people it is such a terrible company to work for and ever since the Rentokill mess, it's worse. The techs can't do their jobs efficiently since their planners clearly don't understand a map or distance. They schedule 6 8-10 stops that are 20 miles apart and mandate the amount of time you have to spend at each stop. The leadership are all the latest failures from unrelated industries like Burger King or some other cr-p job. The after hours work of calling customers and fixing the scheduling the planners can't get right reduce your hourly pay to min wage or worse all to work in cramped spaces in extreme heat and cold. Seriously, layoffs are not the issue, retaining people is their big problem.
One America Purchase Layoffs
Just wanted to let you know that VOYA Financial laidoff (we believe) 80% of the acquired employees from their One America Retirement Services purchase in April 2026
Who is leaving?
Keep hearing that lots of folks are resigning
Can you all say who are the notable ones in your functional areas? Focus on senior mid-career staff/managers, and executives. Should not be any concerns on name dropping since they are already out ...
Exodus
Seems like an exodus is still occurring. Never will be the company it used to be.
The attrition problem
I've watched at least five people leave my team over the last few months. I don't blame them, but the company makes no effort to hire new people, so those of us who stay end up doing the work of two or three people. Which means that deadlines that used to be reasonable are now impossible. If this keeps going, I'll be the next one out.

sudden layoffs?
How come at the end of 2025 we all got a thank you note saying that we did better than ever and how much they appreciate us, then few month go by and they just sp-t on us? They're reaaaally trying to lose all valued and experienced employees. Is common sense in the room with us?
Why aren't people quitting?
Turnover's blowing up at so many other companies but things feel weirdly frozen here. I'm still looking for an exit but most of my team seems fine staying put even after everything that's happened, and I can't tell if they know something I don't or if everyone's just too tired to move.
Teammate just left for a 20% pay cut
I didn't realize the layoff stress here was bad enough to make someone leave for less money.
You know it's bad when folks are willing to take pay cuts just to get out the door
I keep seeing coworkers bail for jobs that pay way less. Nobody even tries to match their old salary anymore because things have become that miserable here. That's how low we have fallen.
Gas Prices Up. RTO Gets D-mber.
Gas prices keep climbing, yet we’re still pretending there’s a business case for forcing people to drive to an office five days a week to do work that happens on a laptop.
Every increase at the pump is another pay cut for employees.
More money spent commuting, time wasted in traffic for the same work and same Teams calls that can happen anywhere in the world.
The cost of RTO keeps going up. The benefits remain impossible to find.
This place is horrible.
Every other month is a quite layoffs unless it is a big one then even more losses. Then they rehire these kids, give them scraps because they straight out of college, and expect us to train them. Nope. Other more indians with fake diplomas and degrees.
FI, Wealth Toxicity (Are We Alone?)
My group in FI which I guess is now in Fid Wealth (though we haven’t heard anything on how that impacts us) is so insanely understaffed and the environment is so toxic and depressing it’s almost like it has to be on purpose. A bunch of tenured great associates left the company, multiple people on LOA’s, one person got totally f’d and passed over for a promotion and left, and you can’t get PTO requests approved since staffing is so thin.
Clients with billions on platform constantly complaining, associates literally crying in office due to high level of stress and anxiety, management staying in their little offices with the glass doors closed - all the while associates rant depressingly, joke about alcoholism and su*cide. I am d-mbfounded how a decent sized group arrives at this point. VPs walking around with no care in the world, laughing while associates take stress leaves and cry in the office and slam their desks in anger.
