Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

Can we have layoffs that for once target the right people?

Why is it always the older, experienced, and high performing employees are shown the door? We have plenty of those who do nothing all day and yet they stay. Why? How come that keeps happening?

Because our leadership doesn’t consider long term strategic workforce planning. They are solely looking near term and at the bottom line.

When you’re only worried about making the numbers look good for investors, concern for the amount of knowledge being lost and in what volume, completely goes out the window. TI has always been naive in wanting keep everything “in house” so if you think they are hiring anyone with any expertise to help strike the right balance when it comes to workforce planning, think again. Same echo chamber at the top making the same short-sighted decisions.

@ax doesn't make sense if they are contributing different amounts. It's taken NCGs 1-2 years to be start contributing significantly. And that's still nothing compared to seniors

pay. The experienced folks are paid so much more than the NCG are, so reduce costs by removing those who are keeping the products moving. Makes sense . And less dollars
