Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

'Same Old Playbook, Empty Billionaire Promises'

Marvel hero "Hulk" Mark Ruffalo, a frequent advocate for social issues, recently voiced strong criticism regarding the proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by what the article refers to as "Paramount Skydance Pictures." In February, he slammed Oscar-winning director James Cameron for his "double standard" in supporting the merger. Just days ago, Ruffalo also joined over 3,000 Hollywood professionals in signing a petition to oppose the acquisition.

Sigh. Mark should probably be asking himself what the movie landscape would look like if there were no paramount or warner bros. Alone, neither are financially solvent enough to sustain operations against Google, Amazon, Netflix, etc. I get he wants two independent companies making movies. What he'll get is two fewer companies in the long run (still plenty of runway for both companies for a while).

Did he cry while voicing that strong criticism?

Good old Mark Ruffalo. One of the biggest cowards in Hollywood. Quick to lecture everyone else, but remarkably selective about what he’s willing to talk about. The unofficial mayor of beta males.

Mark Ruffalo is a privileged, out-of-touch celebrity who often speaks as if he understands the concerns of ordinary people while living a life far removed from them.
