Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Split locations.

I wonder how long this will last. I’m guessing two years to avoid severance pay. Having accounting folks in Houston seems like they had no choice because they were totally against it originally. Thoughts????? Hopefully the new mgmt is better but that doesn’t say much

@OP I'm guessing that Gaspar will slow play any major relocations as they look to shed/monetize all non-Delaware assets. This will optically appease the locals and lon-serving DVN faithful about the HQ move. With the sold assets goes the staff supporting each one. If they can hang on and not get acquired, once they are a pure play Delaware operator, they may move the Delaware technical folks to Houston so they can physically mix in with the Houston staff. Although, if they wait too long, Gaspar may not even do that expecting an acquisition by Conoco or Chevron. No need to pay a bunch of money for relocations when the company will most likley be acquired. Just my opinion.
