Hearing rumors of July layoffs. Do you think the customer insights team will be impacted? I am very nervous and trying to plan ahead.

@bb I will say that they are eliminating surveys in customer service. Ai will evaluate calls based on how the customer feels/ responds ect.
The group runs customer surveys, evaluates usability of different applications and experiences, looks at market trends, tries to understand how products are performing relative to competition, and a bunch of other things that require customer feedback. I think it’s essential work but I’ve been worried more recently.

The name of the team "Customer Insights" indicates a red flag.
if the following question can't be answered, then I would say the team should be gone.
what did the team do to keep customers from fleeing to competitors in the past few years?
As someone who used to work closely with CMI and loved everyone I interacted with on that team, I say this with respect: I’m surprised that team hasn’t been completely axed already. You’re in a non-core part of the business and perform duties that can easily be outsourced, aka exactly in the cross-hairs of hatchet men like Dan and Co. Anyone on that team and similar orgs should be keeping their resume and network up to date constantly.
What exactly is this group? What duties do you perform?
