Just because a role is posted, don't assume that they will ever hire for the position. There are other reasons for posting.
@dt AI will do the selling, silly. They're trying to show the world how superfluous humans are in the age of AI. AI can do everything. I say replace the CEO with AI, wouldn't THAT be interesting!
If they layoff Sales who is going to sell the products? Or are they laying off sales people who is underperforming?
I was sales. My whole team got hit.
@OP No idea of percentages, but I was scrolling my feed on Linkedin just now and saw a number of Oracle Sales folks posting that today is their "last working day" at Oracle. It's Tuesday, Oracle's been laying of a lot of people on Tuesdays, so it tracks.
@ch I know people in Sales that got cut. They're also hiring for Support, another group that took a major hit.
