Were they laid off or were they fired? Also, would be nice to know which dept was affected.

@aa it is probabaly a standard notice period, the same as many European countries. The employee is either required to work their notice period and then terminated or are paid for their notice period and terminated immediately.

How did FIS finally get around the hardcore Polish employment unions and laws? It is understood that Poland requires two to three months notice to employees facing layoffs.
