One of the criteria of the VSP is your age and number of years of service must total 60. Seems like they want a lot of tenured retail employees to take the bait. Stay tuned.

That number is currently about 7%. Verizon only expects about a 3rd of reps to take VSP so the numbers arent all that big. Clearly a cost cutting move without a layoff targeting tenured and aged employees (which would be illegal anyway). I think if you don’t take a VSP they will find ways to indirectly get rid of you. I’ve seen it happen before. One clue thats its coming is an unexpected increase in head count to fill the gap of anyone taking the VSP. Has anyone out there randomly had a headcount increase in the past few months ? Two stores in my district in Southwest have. The increase is unnesscesary unless there is a motive.

Makes total sense, they are targeting tenured reps making 50-60k base salary. Question is will they take the offer ? Looking for a new job these days when your in your 40’s and 50’s is no picnic. I would ride it out until they force you to leave but of course by then there may be no severance packages.

If this is true,I believe a lot of those reps will take it. And if they don't, I believe there will be a closure of corporate stores or takeovers by resellers. And the reps that remain will be posting on this sight on why they should have.
