These targeted layoffs make it feel like its not really happening and also keep layoffs from being covered in the news. Is there any way to know how many people have actually been laid off this year?

I was part of project growth so RIF but my paper work said retirement. Definitely not retirement. It was not my choice.
They continue to happen under the radar and is despicable. This is low even for corporate - not talking ERP, secret RIFs
When I came to humana it was the only corporation in the world I would have considered working for. Now that they let me go, I would never refer them to work for or to have as insurance with. I made my mom move to another company along with my grandma, sister, nephew and his 5 kids, my uncle , and my mom's friends.
Im not sure if there is a way to know but at one time they wanted to cut about 10k jobs when they started this whole damn thing. If they didn't get enough people to take the ERP then they would begin riffs.
The riffs just keep coming. These strategy people who are green and don't know much other than just getting out of an internship making decisions for people and letting go of people who had some dang sense. The ones they are leaving behind are clueless, helpless and a waste of the corporate space. They are not getting their money's worth by keeping the we and not the sme. I think they want to run this place into the ground. This new leadership is horrific and god help us. They don't care. I've heard them speak . It's not personal. It's business. Comes down to the bottom line.

To put things in perspective, I worked at Humana for 12.5 years. Had I accepted their offered ERP, they would have paid me two weeks for every year I was employed there, which comes to six (6) months of pay. In my case, would have come to $30k take home pay for my particular salary at the time.
I do not know anyone that could securely “retire” off $30k.
And yet how much do you think executives get when they exit a large corporation after practically running it into the ground or at best ruining employee morale?!

Corporate calls it ‘early retirement,’ but let’s be honest—it’s a layoff dressed up in nicer language.
If they really meant retirement, they’d back it up: 20+ years of service gets a $1 million golden parachute and a full year of health coverage. Anything less isn’t retirement—it’s just a managed exit strategy with better branding..
A real ‘early retirement’ comes with security. “Corporate early “comes with paperwork and positive phrasing.

I took ERP in September but I’m hearing people are being targeted who have certain number of years with the company. It it should be reported. They just don’t want to.
