Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Why do people think there'll be more layoffs?

I'm not saying there won't be, but I can't find any official info to indicate anything other than we're done. Do people know something I don't or is it just anxiety talking?

@b7 long gone are the days of "CDW doesn't fire people", drive employees to the breaking point with 10 - 12 hour days and then push them out. Tom is missed, it was a different organization, respect was practiced, not used as part of a catch phrase.

I get how it's fashionable to name Leahy - but I don't understand how Al's name is never here. The guy is a financial grim reaper. You hear whispers of how he is behind closed doors and he deserves criticisms, too.

Be prepared around the holidays cause that’s when you’ll get hit with the bad news

CDW's business model is essentially -
Buy up small IT companies
Fire them
Make remaining workers work harder and for less
CDW is essentially trying to drag down the whole playing field so that it can monopolize it.
The company is not a friend of anybody.

These have become an annual event. Last one was July 15th with a smaller one about six months prior. Another big one in April 2023. Not a fun situation to be tied to.

Yet somehow the incompetent managers who don’t accept accountability are still around…and more work/stress gets put on the worker bees to “perform” in a no-win situation! Good luck to everyone who remains!

We've had layoffs every year non-stop since 2020. It's now just part of business.

my 2cents and I survived multiple rif's at other companies until I didn't - once you rely on the quick fix to appease the shareholder/exec greed - you can't just stop. Every quarter gets more demand for fast revenue hits and the easiest way is to shed headcount. It might be a good idea to fix the problems with current management, stop implementing poorly managed acquisitions, don't buy a bunch of technology and slap AI on it to claim you're now an expert (in under 5 minutes - you too can be an AI expert, just download co-pilot) but clearly this Board doesn't care or is too removed to see the future of these bad strategies. At least some VP's were included but there's a boatload of middle management that still remains and is costing much more than the average employee - so yes, absolutely there will be more but I doubt it's a scheduled strategy - how likely is it they can plan to execute anything, look around at how we got here

Because slash and burn is the "money saving" approach that THEY (SHE really) have come up with. So ignorant, but it never touches her own back pocket, does it?!?

The pattern has been established and it's quite clear. Even the protocols are the same and have been used for OVER the past 2.5 years. For instance: the "discussion" meeting invite, the secrecy (like not disclosing around 750 people were let go July 1st), the "separation discussion" as the employee listens as his/her manager stumbles though the script, the immediate shut down of your work accounts, immediate lock out of your entire work laptop, the rallying email to the survivors (for now), etc.

Look to the past, study the patterns, learn for the future.

Because our stock is preforming horribly and we’re a publicly traded company that needs to increase value for shareholders. Why would they not do additional rounds of layoffs to save money.

Because we've had multiple rounds of layoffs the last 3+ years?
