Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

H1Bs needed in AT&T even in these times???

Why are there so many H1Bs still working in the CSO organization? Why can't they be replaced with experiences US Citizens?? This is what this company betrays the great USA on its 250th birthday???

H1Bs are the current day version of slave labor. They are exploited, paid way less than market wage and allows the “plantation” owners to get rich.

Foreign workers can't replace us.

@d6 truth! We were worrying about our identities and the Indians were deciding the communities where they'd plant their flags.

We got soft. We refused to work in the fields and we lost to immigrants. We refused to build our own homes, buildings, and highways and we lost to the immigrants. We refused to build our own software and we lost to the immigrants. We refused to provide our own health care and we lost to the immigrants. The only places we aren't losing to immigrants is in local law enforcement and that's the one area where we are completely failing!

The funniest part is that the US government is trying to stop the bleeding and so many of the folks in this company are totally against it but will be the first to whine when they are asked to leave.

H1Bs are not employees, they are nothing to ATT. Zip. Zero. Nada. They are not for diversity and certainly not because we care about the Indian people. They are simply the wrenches and hammers that our MSPs throw at a project. Att says that we'll pay some vendor $100M for them to perform some task. For example, Implement SFDC for some project. Those 100 Indian dudes aren't atts concern. They aren't employees, they aren't operational expenses, they don't require benefits and we don't care if it's 100 today or 500 tomorrow. They are someone else's problem. That's the beauty. Our OPEX drops by whatever the cost of the contract is. We call it an "investment to align workforce process to create a more synergistic balance between diverse product organizations". Execs agree because there are big words but mostly because operational expenses are bad. Investments in the future are good... at least where dividends are concerned.

Bottom line, Stankey doesn't love Indians, he loves money. He knows that if that synergistic is doesn't pan out, he can cut the cord. Everybody wins. The 100 Indians just move on to another project they may already be working on. They still get paid because they speak the new language of the 21st century worker bee. They make money while we complain about losing our jobs. They fill the neighborhoods and schools around you. They buy all the Teslas and they don't care about the price of gas ot length of commute.

The workforce changed around you. Unions can't save you. Whining can't save you. Stankey certainly won't save you. Bragging about how much you make and how little you do is where you're all where you are.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your July 4th break!

T sponsored H1Bs because they converted existing contractors to full time employees, courtesy of Legg. American immigration system doesn’t let them get green cards soon, so they are stuck in H1B forever. The fault lies with the companies, not the H1B workers. Wouldn’t you eat an apple if you are starving and can’t find anything to eat?

Because baich gets away with inventing new hubs--even ones in India because legg does have the ba--s to question all his bad decisions.
