July has been talked about for 2 months now as the "big one" but will it be and who's getting hit? Wireless? Wireline? Retail? I know we will find out next week, if true, but if anyone is aware please share. Thanks.

SD here, have not heard a word about layoffs this month!
I received confirmation that the layoff for us minions is happening on Thursday and the sr leaders impacted were informed this week as per the usual timeline for RIFs. Us underlings get it the day before payday to soften the blow.
VCG and former GNT (now NT) will be the orgs significantly impacted. I am sure there will be smaller targeted impacts to other orgs bc.... why not?
Take it or leave it but it is absolutely happening. Good luck to everyone.

@c7 regardless if they are the lowest of the low in regards to income. If there are duplicate positions there will be cuts. Might not be now but once systems convert.

@bf No layoffs on the Frontier side. Your salaries are the lowest of the low in telecom. Verizon will model their future compensation & benefits after Frontier.

Tbh alot of us on frontier side are in the dark about alot of stuff. If they offered VSP (our term for voluntary reduction). I bet a good chunk would take it.

Also my AVP stopped coming to the office altogether. He used to have visible presence on the floor..

Confirmed it’s happening. On a project that is now delayed until later in the month once “organizational changes” occur on the 16th we were told.

@a6 Yes.. Finance had significant reductions in May. That's where the 8/7/26 items on the NJ warn came from. There may have been other groups impacted during that timeframe as well though.
May be on or after July 15–16 could mark the start of Verizon hiring. Good news may be coming soon—stay tuned!
@a5 May of this calendar year if so which area, department, within Verizon?
We lost ~15% of our org in May... so hoping we don't get hit hard again. Which of course means we'll be decimated.
