Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Future of support for emea and possibly amer?

More and more nb support engineers are being hired and integrated in support teams. English speaking support engineers have been getting layed off in recent years and it looks like the remaining support engineers are next.

Does someone have any info on this? Whats the timeline? Supposed to be a new batch of newbies soon which we probably have to train to replace us to reduce costs.

Everyone that I know in support has left that team and pursued opportunities on other teams, where they often provide a ton of value due to their experience in solving issue

Can you imagine our customers who pay what they do for the support expecting the same level they have received over the years now getting an AI bot then transferred to our India friends.... See how long they continue to pay for sh--e service.

Yea it’s happening. Lower tier support engineers are being let go. Higher tier being kept as escalation point. They’d love cheaper Indians do the same work with subpar AI tools, though I think escalation group will always be necessary.

I didn't understand how racist Indians are until I worked at NetApp, they are just unbelievable. I thought it was a US company but hah! It's literally like opening the front door of my home to a slum in Bangalore.

If it's not in India, it's cooked chat. India is where netapp is going to invest

@a5 GK has no love for his countrymen. He just sees them as easier to exploit, which makes him a colonial apologist and frankly a race traitor. NB salaries are anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of US/EMEA salaries.

He only cares about what stocks and payouts he can get to enrich himself.

They stopped seeing value in quality support years ago. Get out while you can. It's all about the money and GK loves his countrymen more than a good support experience.

its happening fast for America and Europe. I feel less motivated and actively looking for job now. Dont trust Thrive survey, its just for hollywood. you just have to pretend you are super motivated.
