@aw I think this needs more research . H1b do take jobs but majority of the us jobs are taken by h4 ead who are the spouses of h1bs . Unfortunately not many Americans know about h4 eads and they think every immigrant is a h1b which is not true . Also tons of us jobs are being done in offshore locations and no media covers this , you know why ? Because that news doesn't sell . All these us employers are moving tons of us jobs to offshore locations . Ten mins of google will give you the ground reality

This update does not change our overall situation. We are still facing VSP buyouts and potential job cuts. Any new thoughts? 🙄

Vendors are vendors and not employees!!! Remember, no social security number, no ties to our geographical area, and so we allow them access to US members HIPPA ….. this cannot be legal …. Let’s start a class action for allowing this! Have you all not noticed all the scam calls started as soon as corps started offshoring during COVID, the math, maths, let’s look between the lines

@ap

The problem with that is, the the offshore entities can still keep getting their tentacles on all the 411, by infiltrating USA businesses on our own soil via gaming the H1B system.

It all needs a major housecleaning and overhaul.
Not sure why Doge or other cleanup crews can't get all of this in order.

Oh wait I know why...it's because our own politicians and business leaders have sold us out just to selfishly get themselves filthy rich. The result is everything's being hollowed out, su-ked dry, corrupted and destroyed from within.

@ah Just need to look out for all the data leaks/breaches and keep publicizing it. That one financial company had that and wised up and nixed their offshore presence afterwards.

Just need to have the same things happen across industries.

I hate to say it, but until it actually has major negative consequences that are headline-worthy, its not going to get resolved.

Every healthcare company is using the same 2 or 3 vendors offshore. A data brokers dream is sitting offshore in a nice pretty package, no questions asked.

Because nothing says, "Following HIPAA laws to the letter" and "trust in keeping PII & PHI secure and confidential" more than relying on a bunch of offshore incompetents with dubious intent, whose collective goal is to overtake the western world, USA in particular.

@a6 Prior to 2026 the disruption may have been greater, but with AI it’s less of an issue now.

@a8 They don’t mind paying full time employees as long as those employees are located in the Philippines or similar.

Question : why can't the full timers do this work ? Why do they always outsource?

The cost advantage of moving away from FTEs is clear, but the business knowledge our team has developed around Centene is significant. That institutional expertise does not transfer overnight, and there is a real risk of disruption if the knowledge transfer is not carefully managed.
