Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

What major announcements tomorrow?

What major news or announcements will drop tomorrow on the 2H call? Will there be a new division or group led by MO? Will MO’ s loyalists be promoted?

Everyone I think is bracing for yet another round of layoffs... Let's see how the 4hr meeting goes today and then if it's gonna happen, phone calls will come tomorrow morning (just basing it on the last time in July)

@dr 💯 💯 Agree with you.. I feel the layoffs are def coming.. May not be tomorrow with a morning call, but they are.. Noticing alot of upper management are not present in the office this week not sure if that has anything to do with it.. People are def taking their belongings home in the event they do receive a call tomorrow.. Can't say I blame anyone for being extra cautious..

They might not explicitly say that layoffs are happening over the next couple weeks on remote days, but we know they're coming. The advice about clearing anything off your desks today is valid. I also expect to hear a mandate for 5 days in office by the end of the year, thus taking another huge dump on any remaining employees and their financial health.

It su-ks working for a company that doesn’t value their employees. This company was never like this before. The change in culture that I have personally witnessed could is the direct result of the various impactful changes Sammy has made.

It would be nice to hear Sammy acknowledge that Google has been a mistake and he hears us. It would be nice to hear Sammy say that he knows we have internal challenges and they are working to correct them. Odds are you will simply hear we are not doing enough and business changes are being made that will once again impact you.

I think it’s time for the to level leaders of this company to have a heart. I understand in the business world it’s not common for your leaders to be sympathetic but he is going to lose this company. People won’t leave because the job market is weak and they know this. People will just stop working hard. It’s already happening. People simply don’t care anymore and that is the direct result of a leader who doesn’t care about the people.

Don’t care, just brace for layoff meeting invites from HR on upcoming work from home days. Make sure to bring home any valuable items in case tomorrow is your last office day. You can never be too prepared when disaster is on the horizon.

Yes, Sammy Sun, I am being pessimistic. Let’s see you get triggered by making some passive aggressive remark about negative comments online. We won’t stop until you change your ways. You don’t want to be criticized? Then, stop doing a terrible job.
