Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Another Mid Markets SVP leaving

JVB demoted because she couldn’t meet target in MM sales. Now Shelly Goodman ‘retiring’ because she couldn’t unravel the destruction JVB left behind. For those of you outside of sales that complain about RTO, sales has the most valid reason to complain. Sales is forced to office 5x just like everyone else. Think of the time on the road we could be in front of customers. Instead, we have to come to office daily to meet an in office badge swipe quota while sales attainments circle the drain. We can go into the field to meet customers and try to sale fiber and mobility but the hours we lose daily by commuting instead of acquiring revenue is astounding. Yes, we are in the field but the hours commuting eats up some of that time and we see it in quarter after quarter revenue decline. When sales is set up to fail, we all will.

Not surprised you guys can’t sell this stuff and no guarantee is going to seal the deal when the service after the sale is terrible. They have cut service and support teams forever, what’s left of those teams could fill a small conference room. All the broken stuff, systems, tools, they have nobody left to even monitor most of it, fix it, nor any budget to do so if they did, those teams couldn’t even buy a pack of gum with the budgets they get. If the top was smart at all, they’d understand that in order to get sales, your service needs to work, and if someone has a problem the experience to fix it is quick and seamless. That lowers your CPA considerably and increases your LTV and lowers churn. But, yeah, they think throwing more money at marketing and sales is the answer. Bunch of id--ts.

@a3 high turnover, new seller onboarding. Stiff competition. Customers unload on us for the failures of someone else, some failed process, or pathetic customer service because experienced customer facing and customer loving service and support is traded for low cost providers be it in country or out who have no skin in the game. Domestic support gets cut more and more year after year and we have to battle that before we can get a signature on a contract.

You’ve clearly never brought in a dime of revenue to this company and what it takes to acquire it and maintain it.

Your commute time shouldn’t take away from your work time. Leave earlier. Work 8 hours a day. Try that. Stop complaining about commute time. Should be in your seat by 8am and not leave till 5pm. What a concept RTO crybabies don’t get

I don't think any company requires the sales team to come into the office daily unless it is some type of sales scam team.

Well, this is in line with Stank's general knowledge. He has no idea of how to grow revenue, only how to cut head count. He has never been successful on the revenue side of the income statement.

How do you sell this T sh-t! It’s a miracle that anyone in sales hits any target. Listen sales team, if you can sell T sh-t, you can sell ice to polar bears in January. Run Toto. Run!

I do feel bad for those in sale. Our products su-k! Our customer service su-ks! And the id--t at the top just keeps trying to put lipstick on a pig. However, that said…this place is known for as Toxic T for a reason and it’s simply survival. That means I look out for me first. Wish ya luck, but I wish myself a bit more luck.

Worked with both the JVB & Goodman organizations, for JVB I never heard one positive comment from anyone, from the sales managers to the sellers, would hear - can't be trusted, always posturing, doesn't understand the business. It's surprising how the executive staff is either truly not aware of this or chooses to turns a blind eye to the toxic "leadership".
