every department will be hit that AI can run.if you think other wise look at whats going on.
company is looking to thin us out so they can get paid more. they see how horrible cox people are getting paid and setup a light bulb.
only the top is making money while we beg for scaps

@sv I am indian and unfortunately it is true. Any of indians filled tech firm has that expectation. Forget climbing the ladder but getting day to day work will get pretty hectic. Hope your manager at Capgemini is a good decent human who understands, if not... you better off finding something totally new
Capgemini is run by Indians (actual Indians, not Indian Americans) so the company culture reflects Indian culture, which means work hours are demanding, and you need to be Indian and culturally Indian to be part of the inner circle and “climb the ladder”. Promotions are scarce otherwise.

They now just cut RAP and vacation carryover as well. chris winfrey is awful the board should vote him and out. Magesh Srinivasan has ruined commercial engineering as well. The company was employee focused under Tom.
Unfortunately we are paying the price for executive failures. Magesh Srinivasan has been absolute dog water since he was appointed as the Network Technology Operations EVP. Not only did he blow millions on terrible tools for the NOCs to use (resulting in us reverting back to the old tools we were using beforehand) but he wasted millions on a poor OLT rollout. The DAA rollout has been catastrophic. He needed a fall guy, the NOCs took the sword because he convinced the bean counters that would save them money.
At the risk of sounding like a bitter ex employee, dismantling the NOC is going to make things even WORSE. The network in legacy charter areas are held together with bubblegum and Scotch tape, there are still a ton of hubs without redundancy. The tools we have paid millions for (to automate things) are failing, we are discovering LORs and Hub connectivity losses HOURS later because our tools are failing (the old ones didn't, we noticed them because we always had eyes on glass) what's the point of automation if it continues to fail? Charter is so far behind with implementing AI, and we don't have the talent in place to make it succeed. Instead we are throwing multi mullion dollar contracts out to companies to "try" and do it and they're all failing miserably. This is a problem with upper management, VP level and above. The NOCs crushed all the metrics that were thrown on them this year, even with the introduction of break fix.
The only thing I will say is that I appreciate Hendrickson being straightforward and not sugar coating anything. He also had the ba--s to hang around after letting us go, and meeting with us one on one about the whole ordeal. That rat Magesh would have booked the first flight out of town.
@bx around 150 or so on the NOC side in St Louis and Austin, I cannot speak on how many from the SBNOC. For us it is everyone director and below, our last day as Charter employees is September 8th.
I also heard of some people in Colorado, but I cannot confirm.
@aa There were layoffs in Greenwood Village. Our Engineering team lost people yesterday.
What physical office locations and how many employees is this impacting?
@aq from what they told us in the meeting we will be getting benefits still, just through them (Cigna) so we aren't being totally left high and dry. If we complete the 6 month contract with Cap Gemini, then we will be offered either a job or severance, and will get out annual bonus paid out (for the months of January through September. So it could be way worse. Just su-ks because a lot of us were forced to relocate due to the TWC merge
This happened at my old company and knowing Charters doesn't actually care about its employees and only their tanking stock they will find a way to keep these positions offshore and not internal. So sorry to everyone who was impacted and I hope karma is dealt to these soulless executives
@ap sorry to hear that. Atleast it is better than layoff right away. You have 60 days of benefits and then a job without benefits. How about moving to a different org that is not impacted? Is that an option?
@an I was told yesterday afternoon by a manager to be on webex call at 7 am CST. I log in this morning and I saw suits and immediately knew what the convo was going to be. This is out of nowhere to an extent, since we have been given break fix responsibilities due to the Netops restructure almost a year ago. This feels sudden and rushed to us, but I'm sure they all knew months in advance

Both NNOC and SBNOC will be working for Capgemini after 60 days, loss of benefits, discounts, PTO, SickTime ect.... Not shocked this merger is resuilting in the hiring of an offshore contracting company..
Its affecting the NOCs, SB NOC, and tier 1 and 2 engineering. We will be charter employees for 60 days, then transitioning us to Capgemini for 6 months, after that they will determine who they want to keep on board or let go of. But yes, Charter is contracting out their NOCs.
Greenwood Village is looking normal. Where are these layoffs happening?
