Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

We can't tell you

So said a senior leader when the numerous questions from the front line staff about any further layoffs were brought up. Those doing the work are so down and depressed about the circumstances that the managers approached senior leaders to inquire. The answer was "we can't tell you." That really perked the crowd up and inspired them to produce better work (not really).

When was the Town Hall? I wonder why all employees weren’t invited to attend. Not surprised whatsoever but still wonder why all were not included..

@OP Yes, everything became clear to me once I researched Don’s background. Then the timing of his arrival, Firdaus’s departure, the rebadging of some staff, and the ongoing layoffs all makes sense. Also notice how some senior management departures have gone unannounced. But the company is still top heavy.

@cj another McKinsey consultant brought on board to replace Firdaus and continue downsizing headcount. C suite needs more trimming; instead let’s keep adding there.

@en a layoff that involves you (the broad, universal you) is significant.

@eg That is not what Don Duet said. He said the same snake tongued thing that there are no significantly sized ones currently planned for the CTO organization, but that you can never know what the future will hold.

That means that there may be small layoffs in CTO planned, there could be significant layoffs outside of CTO planned, and/or there could be future significant layoffs in CTO that are in early stages but are not yet fully set in stone or "planned".

Don Duet said in town hall no work force reductions this year.

It was heard earlier in May after a surprise layoff of a senior manager, that "no other layoffs are planned." WTF does that mean? They don't plan them? Clearly! They have decide that they are needed, so that makes it a plan?

I heard the same. Amazing reassurance when he stated that "No layoffs are planned - but there could be some"...
