Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Hiring For Roles They Just Fired?

How can they lay off AMs, while turning around and immediately adding new AMs?

It seems like what might be really happening is CDW is trying to re-set the payroll with lower paid employees and foregoing the experience, expertise and customer relationships of AMs who were paid more competitively.

I’m sure that’s also happening in other departments.

What could go wrong?🤦🏻‍♂️

Hope so for everyone's sake. Hoping there's less layoffs because this last one included all departments.

Never seen this before but guess it had to be done. What do I know...I just work here.

@e9 @e8

I have the time since I don't need to multi task or work considering I'm worth over 7 figures. I already can tell your work ethic sux based on your posts.

They're also firing people in Asia 😉 so good luck with getting paid pennies on the dollar compared to your US counterparts.

I'm here because it's fun and I get an idea about how far things will get worse in the future. Helps when you invest in the market or bet against dumpster fires. Looks like I'll be making more money without doing much work.

Hilarious. People talking big for making $30k pretax.

That poster isn't wrong. SVP's "tinkered" with everyone's pay.

It's funny that people just getting fired think they know all the inner workings of CDW.

It's ok...just read all of the other topics and posts on this site and check LinkedIn to see they not only let go the possibly underperformed but also those that had crucial roles but had a number too high with the current payroll leadership wants everyone on.

It's all belt tightening because shares dropped from 255 from a little over 1 year ago to today's 140 ish.

More layoffs needed to get rid of these whiny people who aren't happy of where they work. No wonder y'all are sinking. I was just offered and accepted too. i am fired up about the opportunity. Time to turn the d-mbination to domination. I can't wait to embarrass what these old timers and do what they failed to do. Please hand ALL of the current workers some tissues for their tears and replace them ALL with us. We are hungry and appreciative.

@ea That is hilarious. I start in two weeks. I was just hired today and look forward to kicking a-s. I am fresh out of a "prestigious university" as well and very excited to clean up the mess. Thank you for the opportunity Miss Leahy. We will NOT let you down.

They tinkered with his pay? He must not have been valuable enough to compensate correctly and invest in based on his accomplishments. Another sign of failure.

@e7 Ha ha. And he used the word "bro". He must be a state school grad. It's no wonder he failed. He was here during the decline but he was not part of the problem. He was part of the team that was failing and now he offers a different excuse than the first one he offered on why he left. They have plenty of excuses but didn't drive change or success. Just kick back and watch us old man. And yes, 30s is old to us. Especially when a 30 year old uses the slang word "bro". The first sign of a classless loser. SMH.

i am writing my first post and doing it from the USA. I can chew gum and work at the same time. I feel bad for you that you could only focus on one thing and couldn't multi-task. We are so powerful that we are forcing a 30 year old to come on a site of a company he no longer works for and hated when he left, because younger people are speaking up. You are soft. Don't look now but we are driving your actions and emotions. Now roll over and fetch you little dog.

I am in Asia. It is after hours here. You must have had a miniscule role that kept you in the US only and doesn't allow you to think globally. Your assumption, like your others, are completely wrong.

Stupid people who failed and claim they left a job because of college kids do hit a nerve. It makes me think of how d-mb HR must have been to on-board someone with poor decision making such as you. No wonder you never grew to a global role. Small minds, small jobs. I am traveling to Chicago next week though. I am available to teach you how to start in a global role right out of college at a foreign university. All the years you put in and you never rose to the level I am starting at? I think you need to reserve your comments because your results are just too poor to offer input.

CDW, please get rid of the other dead weight. You've tried them. Now let us guide you to the promised land. You were cdw (crying d-mb workers). Now you are CDW (Collegians Driving Wins).

Let's kick these old crybabies' as--s! BRING IT!

@e5

Lol I'm in my 30's bro and left 2 yrs ago once when they tinkered with pay.

I don't work for scraps like you. I also was over 100% for my tenure regardless of the fake inflated goals they assigned to me.

I left behind the dumpster fire is right but I definitely didn't contribute to it.

Now get back to work like I said. You're being tracked and you're on here instead of servicing customers.

I already see the dumpster fire will will just grow because of coworkers like you.

What a shame. Didn't realize they lowered the hiring standards so much.

I will say...you are very positive which is good. But ignorantly positive.

@e5 You are so right. Let's do it new hires. Grab a mop and let's clean up the mess that these coworkers who only want to blame their bosses created. We agree that the CEO su-ks and that the General Counsel is corrupt. And we will still work internally to get their as--s out. But we will not be denied our success. We will BRING IT and win. Thanks for nothing old coworkers. We will take it from here.

I am sure your kids are proud of your low fu--ing results and your blaming others for your failures. We don't roll like that.

@e3 You clearly lied. You left when the company was down. Nice job bragging about that. Now watch where we take it. It is about what we leave behind. Results matter. You left a dumpster fire but we WILL fix it. As long as you are out, on your own or by lay off, you left at a time when it was declining so you are part of the problem. Now watch our results old man!

You have that same energy for the other people with negative posts? Keep that same energy.

I must've hit a nerve though. Hit too close to home huh.

And I was raised well enough to not have to ever work again or worry about money.

Now get back to work because you might be included in the next layoff since you're on this site during business hours 😉

@dr @ds

I quit because they hired ignorant "college" grads like you.

I'm under 40 and retired ... something you won't be able to do working at the current CDW. I actually shorted the stock after I left because any normal person with common sense could see what's going on. Dropped like a rock to under $100.

You won't get paid because they're focused on buying back and boosting shares.

Obviously you're not intelligent enough to learn from actual people with experience but rather brown nose for people paying you nothing.

You live with roommates or your parents 🤣

Good luck selling anything with that attitude as your specialists and customers aren't 25 and spoiled.

If these two are what's being hired now... time to short even more. CDW stock back down to under $100 soon it is.

Now I'm actually hoping for more layoffs.

Lol brokies with college debt thunk they're smart because they just got entry level sales jobs 🤣

@dr Ha ha! I am newer to CDW too and knew some of the coworkers they let go. Those shirts are now on more qualified and smarter people that the former coworker they used to belong to. Hit the road old people. You failed and CDW stumbled. Now we will kick a-s with us under 25 coworkers. Losers!

You were let go and you should have saved money you made and retired like I plan to do. I am just out of college and now with CDW but instead of crying, we will dominate and succeed unlike y'all that allowed the stock to tumble. Now get the fu-k out of the way and let us show you how it is done. Y'all are a bunch of cry babies!

All companies are not doing that. I left CDW and joined a company that has faster growth and really cares about its coworkers. We have a ton of seniority here and I have already pulled a former cdw customer to us. The grass is truly greener on the other side. Stop complaining and do something. I finally did and am very happy I did. Like Nike says, just do it.

Those that can't do...teach (or write textbooks).
All answers don't come from college textbooks. College degrees aren't worth much anymore and are watered down anyways.

Regardless... if all corporations like Cisco, do what's being done... that explains why they go through periods of ups and downs.

The funny thing with CDW is it never really had a down period before Leahy because leadership didn't operate like other corporations and leaders. Example is 2008 when everyone was laying off 1000's and large percentages of their workforce, CDW laid off a few hundred.

Personally I learned never to depend on anyone but myself when I was working as I saw the backstabbing and favoritism. I worked hard for years and saved until I saw this storm coming.

Glad I left before all this. I felt stuck myself because being in a sales company, you always feel like you need or want more money. I freed myself though.

Never felt richer. Just wish I could by back the last few years I worked under these mo--ns which definitely don't deserve the millions they take while failing the coworkers they supposedly lead.

Don't feel bad.

Tenured or "better" coworkers worked to get the pay they were earning.

You just haven't worked long enough or gotten lucky ("sometimes good luck is disguised as hard work" - per Krasny).

The people laid off was to cover for the bad fiscal decisions by leadership.

They'll have to keep cost cutting and buying back stock because certain levels of profitable growth are expected and that has to make up for the mismanaged acquisitions that resulted in the loss of a billion+ $

I am heartbroken. They let go of people who were better than I was at my job and yet I am still here. I was cheaper than those that were let go.

This is textbook. I learned company's do this back in college in the 90s. Outsourcing to save costs, and lay off higher paid employees to hire on cheaper to save on costs. It is a common practice. This is not a new practice corporate America has been doing. Companies like Cisco, have been outsourcing since then. Do not be shocked your old role someone was already hired for it doing the job cheaper. Everyone in Corp America is disposable. Including CDW. Next job. Save your money. If still employed at CDW and pay is good. Save your money.

It would seem both versions apply to the current situation.

CDW situation is bad. Company is on life support or in hospice.

Maybe a new hospital or doctor could resuscitate the company but those brain surgeons running things don't want to give up thier fat salaries and stock options.

What do I know...maybe putting an attorney in charge or a Sales and Technology company was the revolutionary thing to do.

you'd think after letting the outsourced group cost CDW millions (my supervisor wouldnt say any exact numbers, but said "whatever high number youre thinking of, add a 0 at the end") that they would realize you get what you pay for. I'm sure the customer's rotating sales reps looks great for CDW's reputation

Just look at LinkedIn and you'll see tons of posts regarding Interns.

VP no---n has a newer post showing like a hiring class worth of interns and that's just one bunch.

SOOOOO tonedeath....senior leadership should be quiet but they're out there with positive spin via online posts.

How tonedeath and D-MB posting that kind of garbage after yet another massive layoff.

Every 1000 coworkers at this point is at least 10% if not more of the total employee count.

You are correct. Positions were posted on LinkedIn some a week, some only several days prior to the layoff. Many of the same positions! Older, tenured people who have higher salaries launched.
