@pn In a nutshell, contractors are generally cheaper on a per hour rate. Also, VZ can cut them at anytime for any reason, no severance, no nothing....
Whenever an exec tells you that contractors are there to handle the temporary workload increases, and those same contractors are still there after years, they are lying when they say contractors will be let go before employees....
I have a question. Why is management keeping contractors over employees? We are employees getting laid off and contracts are extended for contractors. Why can't Verizon just layoff contractors and keep the employees. duh
Interns are emotionally invested in the outcome of how big the layoffs will be.

Verizon management has gone soft! Back in the day, SDs would terminate internships whenever they were asked to cut down on spending just to signal that they were fiscally responsible. It wasn’t required and it didn’t save much. Virtue signaling at its best.
The interns suffered enough already… they had a lunch and learn with Hans on leadership
People in the cx team that have interns under them are safe. This will effect the intern summer projects otherwise
