Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Managed Failure

So management remove decent people, remove decent tools and cripple processes - the activity fails - they then use that as an excuse to cut the activity back to the minimum and send the work to India - they move on to the next activity and repeat. No idea what they're throwing away as they grind on towards mediocrity. Senior management in EM are driving the organisation into the ground.

@sv Agree. It's been the strategy for years & they just keep chasing cheap labor. Years ago that meant Prague & Curitiba. Then it was Bangkok, Budapest....Now it's Bangalore & Buenos Aires.

The C-Suite team is just looking for excuses to get rid of US employees and send the work to cheaper countries like India. They do this because it raises the stock price and increases the value of the shares they receive from Exxon. Any layoffs are just to pad the pockets of the C-Suite, no other reason.

Are we seeing this in Guyana? Has Liza 1 oil dropped below 80,000 and falling at 9% with a couple of well failures? Is Permian oil production and OPC dropping substantially? Will EM need to purchase another oil company for reserves?
