Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

I think Managers/PL know more than what they are letting on....

......as my manager told us last Monday that an important update about the VSP was coming and he was referring to the date change to rescind your application.....the email that was only sent to those that applied for the VSP. So, either my manager applied for VSP and got the email, or managers are getting more information than what they are sharing with the plebes.

@cx That's wild if true. VP's usually have no clue and should not be the ones deciding who stays or goes.

@en I can't believe they still sent put that survey after the VSP was sent out. "We are laying you off. How do you like us?"

It’s a mixed bag. In my part of the org, we’ve been told NOTHING. That’s what I tell my team because it’s true. I’m sure someone knows but I they’re as heck has t come back to my level (sr dir)

@cx I am a Director and was not part of any of the decision making. Some VP's and ALL RVP's and SVP's were apart of the decisions. Even Program Owners are not apart of these decisions. We will be told what is decided and who will be leaving at the same time as the individual contributers. BUT the Supervisors, Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Senior Directors will all get blamed for the decisions......and then when our survey scores get tanked even worse than they are now, we will be the ones to get FIRED.....with only the standard 2 weeks severance they give when they fire someone!!!! It is game where the majority of us are just pawns and we will lose.

I think some people leaders are just now finding out about those that just chose to stay from higher leadership if it will impact their team.

As a PL , personally I am not getting any more information than front line workers. We also were able to apply. I think decisions are not even made by directors only VP and above possibly. Supervisors at least to my knowledge have no say.

@bj PL here and I can assure you we were not notified by the company of who applied. I had one accept, but that person told me so we can begin transition work.

@bj see, they aren't supposed to know until you are approved/denied. That would seem to be some sort of "violation" per the rules we were given, especially if People Leaders (woke term for manager) are in the same bout as their subordinates.

@an there's PLs that have reached out to employees who applied for the VSP and asked them if they were sure they wanted to continue with the VSP application. So obviously, they know something, because the PLs received some kind notification as to who had applied and they have reached out to those individuals directly.

I’m a People Leader and we’re in the dark too, it’s a wait and see what happens next.
This process is being managed by an external company.

@OP They might, or they might not. Even if they know more than we do and aren't sharing it, it could be because they believe it's not appropriate to share or because they've been instructed not to. In my opinion, as PLs, they have the right to decide what they can and cannot share. If they were explicitly instructed to share certain information and chose not to, then that would be a valid reason to raise concerns. I also think it's important for all of us to remember that these PLs are on the chopping block too.
