@hs -- As for timeline, seems like the actual date remote workers officially RTO may be by choice, but has to be by EOY. Sounds like that date must be communicated in the next month or so. This may be different from dept to dept, but If this holds, at least they seem to be giving remaining remote workers some time to adjust.
I wonder what hubs would be designated as Technology hubs. Irving, Charlotte and Atlanta have got to be on that list due to heavy concentration of cheap H1-B labor.
@jz We were told the hubs for CC include MSP, Charlotte, Cincinnati, and AZ.
@js Global Bullsh-t & Lies.
@jz You don’t know anything but rumors
@jz simply not try. You’re making stories up.
@js At some point if you are in RMC you will have to work in Minneapolis or Charlotte or face the same fate as remote workers did today.
@js Corporate Compliance.
@jb what are HUB specific markets and what is GB&L?
GB&L Compliance remote workers were informed today. They have until July 31 to make a decision if they want to move to a HUB or their last day is September 18th. The whole Bank is being hit with this. Next up, creating HUB specific markets so they can let go of even more workers.
The bank's severance policy states that if your job location is moved more than 50 miles from the location you were hired to work at (in the case of roles that were hired as remote that would be your home address) you are eligible for severance if you don't relocate. So if you've always been remote and the nearest hub is more than 50 miles away, the bank has to pay severance unless you're willing to do the RTO commute.
Being designated remote due to distance is being phased out. We're being told remote employees in our dept. need to prep for RTO. No timeline given, but HRs official notice is en route.
JR said there would be layoffs. She didn’t say who would be affected, but the ongoing focus on the hubs and limited opportunities for remote make remote people nervous. Cutting all remote people right away doesn’t seem possible, so if you survive this time don’t get comfortable. I wish us all luck and good fortune to your families.
Proof is not always possible without the person outing themselves and putting their own job at risk. This is not a rumor, it’s coming and some people are trying to tell us that so we’re prepared.
How do you give proof of a future event? JR basically said as much on a all hands call, what else do you need. If you choose to ignore the warnings its on you. This place is not to be trusted.
Proof is in the pudding. :-)
@as The thread on "All remote workers to be laided off" was started 11 hours ago and this one shows up 7 hours later. Coincidence? I think not.
You want proof? I've GIVE you proof!
This happens every time - someone gives a reliable source of an upcoming layoff, then someone show up demanding to show proof as if they are an HR plant trying to find the leak of the source.
this is literally a rumors site. It says right on the homepage: “News, personal experiences, rumors and speculations about layoffs at your company“
