Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

AI to decide the LR list after this next one...

Watch the Cisco Beat today...
They have rediscovered serious performance monitoring and evaluation and participation in the bullsh-t side of it is becoming mandatory. As a result they are moving it out of all the clunky tools they have today--into a new tool. Which is???

WEBEX!!

Yup, Webex. Likely so that they can use AI to run it all in the backend (which they own/control). So, from now on, you'll be effectively reporting to an AI tool that will evaluate your performance against the latest/greatest HR fashions.

Which means that next time they need to get rid of x'000 people they can ask AI for the list. Which is probably not good news for middle managers.

Hope it hallucinates and lays off the entire upper crust starting with CR, G2 et al, right down to the a$$ licking, gaslighting lackeys such as C. Patel .

I’ve never, ever submitted one team space check-in or whatever. I’m sure most of my colleagues haven’t either.

CSCO needs a little I. Not AI. Just good old fashioned I.

the most upsetting thing about this new My Performance sh-t is that it's mandatory. I stopped checking in on team space ages ago, I don't do it at all, and my manager doesn't care. We meet weekly anyway. Now we both have to deal with this stupid song and dance.

AI blah blah blah. Rolling my eyes at how of touch leadership is.

The process is a reincarnation of a high school popularity contest. The goal is to get one's corporate identity placed within the "cool" bucket; "hey, this person is hip, trendy, and popular; so they are part of the club".

It no longer matters how hard one works, what legitimate business or technical problems one is working on. It is simply how bullsh-t connected one is perceived in this baloney popularity contest.

Now, those same "leaders" that control the whole homecoming king and queen popularity contest, get to control the AI automation rules, in which determine how really cool or not cool you are, and get to stay, or are just not connected enough to be part of the big Cisco team.

Seeing all the LinkedIn posts of people messaging that their last day was this week; and how thankful they are. Wake up everyone, this is all just a continuing game, hosted by the same id--ts who strove for winning popularity contests years ago in school.
