Technology Leadership continuous rout

Two by two, three by three, four by four, and there they go. Replaced by Dan's new army. Farewell Jeff C.

Tech leaders are dropping like flies and I am guessing that's still a fraction? The firing has gone down to the lower levels, near the worker bees' managers. More to come it seems like.

Grandpa Milky likes to lead using fear. In his terms, Classic IT. That this is allowed by Juan is an indictment of both. The fear is real, the risk of being blamed for something out of your control is high and changes have to be approved 3 levels above. This place is absolute sh--e, to use the Milky vernacular.

I for one am glad there is a white guy at the top of the tech organization. Amala was working overtime to hand all the work to HCL and TCS which would turn USAA into some sweatshop in Hydrabad.

I posted before, USAA has too many Chiefs and too many Indians.

Some folks (WM) are sooooo obsessed with me! They can’t even sleep at night. They have to then pretend to be what they claim to “hate”, but would can’t stop being so obsessed! Sooooo funny! Love it though. Toodles

@bc Dan isn't great but I haven't seen him try to publicly humiliate people on a regular basis or only hire based on nationality so based on those standards, he's doing better than Amala.

Not just Jeff who got fired today, there were a few more tech executives in the list. I don't know what's really happening to Tech, no more path forward (unlike Amala's wheel of fortune diagrams that constantly changed every year.). I prefer the wheel of fortune diagrams than nothing at all.

@b8

I'll keep pushing my VA disability as long as the DEI crowd pushed their racist garbage. Either way the same thing happens every two weeks...a juicy paycheck shows up.

@ab actually you’re correct

USAA is full of toxic children whining about being “ neurodivergant” on slack and treating it like it’s adult daycare instead of a job

Our members would revolt if they knew

Jeff knew technology and was a solid leader. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot by forcing him out.

Anyone who thinks they are safe.. think again !!!!
I've been around corporate environments long enough to see through the bullsh-t. USAA will throw everyone under the bus the moment it's convenient for them. They'll smile to your face, send those fake "we appreciate all you did for us" emails, and talk about how much they "value" their employees. The mission moment BS before the team meetings. But the second you become even slightly inconvenient, maybe you cost them a few bucks compare to Nearshore or offshore, implemented a change which caused outage to members, or accidentally violate some ridiculous clause buried in page 67 of your contract, you're gone!. Just like that.

You don't even have to sc--w up. Business gets rough? They'll clean house faster than you can update your LinkedIn. Its happening. Very fast!!

All those people you worked late nights with, grabbed drinks with after work, considered actual friends? Yeah, they'll get the same treatment. That "we're family" garbage they love to preach? Pure BS. Families don't fire each other when qinflation is heating up or we have bunch of claims to pay or used repair cost are going up.
Your job already steals more hours from you than the people who actually matter in your life. It's probably doing more damage to your mental health than anything else you deal with day to day. And despite all that sacrifice, all those missed dinners and skipped vacations, they'd replace you in a heartbeat if it made financial sense.

So here's the reality check: Consider USAA just another employer. Your employer isn't your friend. They're not your family. They're not even particularly loyal business partners. They pay you money, you do work. That's it. The transaction ends there. Your job isn't to bleed for them or lose yourself trying to fit their mold.

Keep this in mind:
Your time with people you love matters more than any deadline
Don't let work destroy your mental health - no paycheck is worth that
Stick to who you are instead of becoming whoever they want.
Ignore the hustle culture noise, it promises everything and delivers burnout
Zero Loyalty !!!

I recall when Jeff C was acting CIO and enlisted that total sycophant and corporate podcaster Charlie to try and take over. Remember? Perhaps Jeff and follow Charlie to his much deserved he-l hole at CVS health.

Oh no Jeff, so what happens to our tech journey now? For the past years, Jeff and Ramik have been the primary drivers of tech and innovation, the worker bees of Amala. Are we going back to ice age?

@a7 - This is rude & unprofessional. Celebrating some one losing their Job is purely cruel & evil. Be more empathetic towards people. People like you who is deteriorating the USAA culture. Shame on you. You are no more then a sc-m.
