Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

How good is Cisco AI???

This good…..

Cisco Systems Inc. President Jeetu Patel said artificial intelligence is likely to reshape the global workforce by creating more jobs than it eliminates

"I've been saying this for months, and the early data is beginning to support it. Five years from now, I believe AI will create more jobs than it eliminates,"

Is there one other person saying this? Certainly not CR with all the layoffs.

Not American jobs, however.

AI is durable. Online AI and Infrastructure providers are not.

AI will all be local models and high powered workstations

He is 100% right. Open up your history books. In the end, more jobs will be created with AI than lost. It will be the best ride of our lifetime if you catch the wave….or you can stay on the couch and watch what you missed.

@c4 By "creating jobs" he means firing x Americans and hiring 2x offshore employees in low cost of living areas.

It is hilarious that he thinks he is an AI thought leader. The market is happening to Cisco, there is an AI feed frenzy and they have been dragged along by it.

Cisco has missed every technology move for the last 15 years, i.e. cloud. Once the feeding frenzy is over it will be back to desperately trying to convince customers that they should replace an old switch with a new switch that does the exact thing.

He needs to stay out of economics. If there is to be more jobs, it will be in fields like hospitality and care. Basically, flipping burgers or wiping b-ms. Until robots get going, and then they'll be gone too.

ai is not creating jobs and it's not replacing them, it's giving an excuse to get rid of them
