C'mon, the only reason anyone would start a business is to employ people . . . right ?

I'll let you in on a little secret. Bankers review business plans every day and they skip past all the pro forma income and cash flow statement nonsense.

They focus on the work-from-home schedule, benefits, bonus payments in losing years, etc.

The real important stuff.

That's how you build a successful company.

In fact, it's the stockholders that should be terminated, not the employees.

If you get rid of the stockholders the company would prosper beyond belief.

Great for employees if there are no layoffs. They just keep siphoning money that should go to the stockholders. Remember that the stockholders own the company.

I've said this since 2019. Outside of a planet ending meteor hitting us, I guess Oxy will just keep on keeping on. It is in a niche position where no company wants to buy Oxy's assets and the banks/ Buffet are happy to collect interest on their loans....Isn't this called purgatory?

How does Oxy continue on this bloated path? 7-10 layers of management that do nothing. It’s extremely concerning; meanwhile CVX cut another 9K jobs. What happens if the people who actually do the work quit/ get let go?

They aren’t.

Then again, I work for a professional company that doesn’t repeatedly carry out fatal accidents then just shrugs at the families of those lost.

Unlike Oxy.
