Almost forgot to post about this. Heard a PL (not mine, she's amazing) one day the week before last say "Mission Simplify has nothing to do with layoffs and RIFs. It's all about operational efficiency."

@bj And I get all of that. I'm someone else with a fantastic PL, like the OP. But at the same time, they shouldn't lie and spout corporate platitudes that help nobody.
Hey PL here. I think certain levels of PLs get lumped together and also there is an incorrect perception that we know anything or have more insights into what is happening than you. As a PL, it's always been important to me to be super transparent, even when it could be risky for me. I've literally ridiculed mission simplify in front of my team. I've been in this org for over a decade and know a lot of PLs aren't great, but I also know many who are doing their best and who are going through what you are and are just as stressed. The constant harassment toward PLs is a bit annoying considering they have nothing to do with what is happening right now and if you have a bad PL it doesn't mean every PL is bad. I am just as likely to lose my job, and maybe more likely. If I lose my job I don't have much time before it's an emergency situation for me because centene does not pay us as well as I'm sure individual contributors may think (at least for those not at VP level).
That sounds like something a PL would say. Ignorance meets arrogance.
This PL should be the first to be RIF’d.
