Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Shareholder Perspective

As a prior employee who was laid off over a year ago, I have to admit that from a shareholder perspective who was fully vested with ESPP shares for several years, it appears that the moves that NetApp is making has increased my account value significantly. While I didn't appreciate being cut from the company, I am enjoying seeing the company make me money while I'm sleeping. Cheers and best wishes to you all!

The stock price has nothing to do with anything Netapp itself is doing, prices are up across the board in the industry and especially within enterprise storage (you can thank the AI hype for that). Us being up 50% YTD is great but nothing compared to our direct competitors HPE (100%), Lenovo (160%), and Dell (250%).

@ep Correct. I only have my ESPP shares that were reinvested over the years instead of withdrawn. My RSUs were taken after after my employment ended. I have been the beneficiary of the rising stock prices that I already owned, luckily.

Sad that you only get ESPP and not yearly RSU refreshers.
