Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

New DCG layoffs

and again... it is endless and relentless. why does anyone dedicate themselves to Intel when each quarter their necks are on the block. At this point, the entire company is really made up of contractors, not employees.

@c5 the only question I have to ask is why go to these length to harm one person if there isn’t something illegal you all are trying to hide? Could there have been a promotion that was awarded wrongly?

@ak then they wonder where parts of the toxicity stems from? When the head of the snake is corrupt, the whole body follows! In what world is it ok for a team to sit and vote who gets laid off? Why are you paid as a manager then? Why wouldn’t people get desperate to harm each other when you who is supposed to unite the team and fairly evaluate everyone have planted the seed of making it their duty to choose which of them gets cut.

@ak I sincerely wish that was the case. They cut the newer techs that had less experience and skills on paper but had a great attitude, exceptional work ethic, and an open desire to learn and improve. They kept the "skilled" 10+ year veterans who sit on their a-s all day openly sc--wing around or sh-t talking the people they don't like.

Been here awhile. One observation is that you can tell when it is a HR driven layoff vs Manager's choice. Imagine you let the team vote who gets laid off. Its popularity driven and usually someone who is doing real work. When it is HR driven you notice it is some metric. Like who is barely working, barely in the office or online in teams. When it is HR driven the Manager appears butthurt 😆

@a7 At the end of the day nobody except management can be held accountable due to ..... ...... ..... severe mismanagement. Read some outside news articles. Open your eyes and look objectively. Intel is mismanaged.

@a1 I guess you also try to look good on paper? It’s a free world OP……news flash everyone at Intel, including them are on the chopping block. I don’t know how much sympathy you need if looking at someone else is the reason you have “lost motivation”. Personal accountability is a good place to start.

Seems they don’t have a clue, in Ireland we let so many go in 2024, a lot of them now back as GB plus new we’ve a load of new hires too hired in last Q🤷🏻‍♂️

Good question. I have noticed that I have basically lost all the passion for what I do - specifically from working in the Intel environment. Many of my coworkers are very qualified on paper and lack actual technical fundamentals. Just some observations. It is a strange work environment.
