She walked by and clearly saw the job posting on my screen. When she asked about it, I lied and said I was looking at salary benchmarks for a friend. The look on her face told me she didn't buy it. Can I be fired over this?

no. Nothing will happen. Employees are encouraged to stay on top of their careers. The lying part is silly. Be honest. Just say something like, "LinkedIn recommended this. I don't feel it matches my skills. What do you think?". Now, you're no job searching, you are investigating if your skills are current and relevant.
I guarantee you, unless your manager is a fool or a slacker, she's doing the same thing. The difference between disciplinary action or success is how you frame it.
If your boss was smart, they’d be looking also. Next time don’t lie about it, shows you lack integrity which is a worse look than admitting I was browsing the market.
I doubt your position matters enough for them to care if you leave. To answer your question at&t has a policy against using the computer system for non work related activity. So yes you are in violation of the COBC which could lead up to dismissal however most likely you will just be written up and put on some for of discipline step.
Are you management? If so the answer is yes because you're an at will employee. In reality you probably won't be fired.
No. And maybe you can use it to get a package and a better job.
