Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Middle Management is full of 2 years college graduates: RN's and CNA's

Regarding the layoffs at Centene Corp., the real problem is management, not the boots-on-the-ground employees. There are too many layers of unnecessary management pulling in great salaries. Middle management is mediocre and exclusively focused on metrics and numbers, which is the exact reason we lost so many members—because the resulting quality is deficient and mediocre.

How can anyone focus on quality and caring for the member when they are forced to handle 60 calls daily, just trying to reach that arbitrary quota of 60 members a day? Leadership thinks that because they have a Microsoft pilot, everything is fixed, yet CM Hero remains an outdated piece of trash. I cannot fathom how much they paid for that imbecile piece of software that they are trying to promote.

The issue stems straight from middle management, where there is zero innovation. Moreover, when you look at the staffing mix—such as registered nurses with only two years of college and CNAs—can you expect them to think above and beyond? Many of them do not write English properly, which is plainly evident in the notes that they produce.

Knowing what I know now, I'd get a medical degree. RN work pays so well and has endless options.

@a6 Thank you for that. That was rude to say the an RN with an ADN is somehow inferior. What a crock of sh-t.

I worked my a-s off for my ADN.. and worked even harder in my career to build myself up. BSNs and ADNs take the EXACT same NCLEX. When I graduated, we,ADNs, had a much higher NCLEX success rate than the BSNs. In clinicals, we watched the BSNs spend an entire semester doing nothing but bed making.. while we were doing advanced skills. I dont know who pi---d in your corn flakes this morning but I hope your day gets better.

@a1 lol
This guy is an id--t. An imbecile. Why the heck did you go to school and got a useless degree and now you are hating on RNs? RN school is only “2 years “ but costs you everything. When I was in RN school I had time to do nothing but study. You and your psychology and counseling or business degree you should be quiet when RNs are talking

Why don’t you go back to school and become RN? You”ll make more money with “2 years “ college than the 50k you are making with your bachelor or masters degree buddy. Stop being a hater

Would love to know where one gets a 2 yr RN degree or where a CNA goes to college. You sound pretty full of sh-t, to be honest.
