Just heard from ED that GNT will be having a RIF of 10%. Decision by next week. All backfills closing, travel halted. OPEX being slashed. 1Q23 not looking good.

Heard today that there will be RIF in next 2 months.
A bunch of horsesh$t! There is no such a thing as asking EDs to rank their teams to avoid favoritism
Decisions of who is getting RIFed are done strictly by HR and a consulting company. EDs get a list 24-48 hrs before the official day!
An ED wouldn’t know. Those decisions are made well above their heads.

If they were asked for rankings 7 days ago (per previous posts), a RIF is not the following week... it takes time from that point to make sure all the legal ducks are in a row before pulling the trigger. I am absolutely convinced by someone even hearing that phrase "they provided their rankings" that a RIF is being planned. That phrase isn't just thrown around.
Yes, GNT is untouchable gauranteed.
Like I said, no RIF in GNT this week. A smattering in VBG. Someone's ED lied to them.

They should reduce t&m and sow contractors to save money now. Their purpose is to be a flexible work force. Of course “the leaders” don’t know what they are doing so rif away

GNT does NOT include GTS. GTS was moved to VGS last year. GNT is everything else in that org.
Is this RIF only about teams under JR or does this include teams under Shankar?
Will not be surprised..but there is not much to remove. Folks are already overloaded with projects and reduce further will affect the work quality or no longer performed by anyone...

@4dac+1lknE2qJ it's against the rules to post people's names that aren't public figures. So you can talk about Hans but not the regular executives by name. I'm surprised the admins don't post that when they delete, but this site is like something out of 2010.

I was the PP who said who JR was, I guess the site admins don't want actual names posted. For those who want to know, just look in VZWeb for the SVP in GNT with those initials.
So posts are disappearing. Someone said who JR was and now that post is gone or maybe I am just not seeing it....it was probably spot on but can't be sure. But if that is the same JR that my old team reported to a few yrs ago. shortly after he took over and visited our campus.....he outsourced many jobs a few weeks later. Felt lied to and right to our faces...my opinion. Now he moved over to new teams and I suspect it will be the same...outsourcing jobs.

@2dkk+1lknE2qJ First it was 2/16 then we were told 2/17. Now people are saying RIFs "next week" , blah blah blah. Again, a broken clock is right twice a day. People can keep guessing and fabricating RIF dates, eventually they will be right but they won't be next week.

Ugh. I would take the OP seriously. My friend who is a E/D under the JR said it is happening this coming week. Wouldn’t give def numbers but most teams will be missing someone at the end of first qt. The numbers so far are garbage. Now AWS is going to T-Mobile. Good luck. Hans needs to go, the more and more he’s here the worse it’s going to get. Let Angie Kline run the show. Plenty of overpaid GNT that do nothing, many employees here for 20+ years think they are untouchable and don't even know today's technology are getting paid 100k+ to do nothing.
GNT is a joke organization especially on the operations side. They been trying for over 10 years to centralize so many departments and just keep creating more redundancy. They literally hire overseas people to diagram and cad all the COs and hubs meanwhile they still pay people in those offices to send the overseas people the cad drawings because we’ll ummm there overseas they can’t draw or keep track of anything off site. Multiple network groups, redundant surveillance of network, outdated ticketing systems… that organization is so blown up. I took my rif package in September, I don’t regret it one bit.
