I think it was January 2017 when they used Collaboration Zone 1.0 as the excuse to layoff thousands of managers ?
This is just the 2.0 version of that.
They'll lose a ton of experience / knowledge and not even realize they shot their own foot off until the dust settles and the work doesn't get done because you laid off all the knowledge that was doing it. lol
They dumped all the work from the previous groups that were laid off on those who remained. As it stands, most are barely keeping up and we're going to do it again ?
There is only so much work an individual can do. Asking folks to do the jobs of three people isn't going to end well.
Oh, and I have first hand experience with the amazing contractors they'll try to replace everyone with. Good luck with that one :D
Advice:
If you can, retire soon.
If you can't, start looking for another company even sooner.
I don't see AT&T existing as a company for much longer.
