My RSU vesting is accelerated. I get my bonus. And I don't have to work (although I'm "allowed" to). To the person who said "What did I do to get fired," the answer is nothing, thanks. There are at least 7 people I know of whose positions were eliminated. I was in good standing, my boss disagreed with the decision. They're downsizing and got rid of several people who had similar positions.

I spoke to a director in Collab; they confirmed 400 people impact, mostly in China. Webex will shut down site in China in the next few layoff cycles. This layoff ended the entire Product management in China. Current webex engineering in China is on borrowed time. although most of the best engineering teams are in China. amazing people. sad

Good luck to everyone who is impacted.

FWIW, I was based in the UK and laid off from an SJ-based group back in 2018…usual age/demographic triggered the XLS firing formula. I then went through the Kubler-Ross curve in terms of anger and enjoyment at being free from this toxic company over the following 6 months…but then landed a senior engineering role in an SP customer some 6 months later.

5 years on in same company and I am now in the best role in the whole of my 50 year career. Sure it might end…just like Cisco…but know there is always something better after this company where you are more a number than a name.

Sad to see more people affected. I was impacted this past March. Whole CX team cut. Still looking for a new job. Reports indicate over 200,000 people in the tech industry alone have been played off since January. Every available role has 200+ applicants in less than 24 hours. Awful out here.

Very generous packages. Sometimes you wish you get laid off before this goodwill runs out.

Packages in Canada are 4 weeks per year of service.
There is a limit, I heard 80 weeks but not sure.

Surprising!! Why there is no news on media about this layoff? OR is it going to be ongoing for multiple days and then at the end news will be out?

This site is fake. No layoffs have occurred at Cisco this week! If anything Cisco is increasing its headcount this month aggressively. Nothing to worry about… Rumors & innuendos…

What about the hordes of managers in sales, useless SEDs and the waste-of-space Business Solutions Architects? They escape again and get to keep doing what they are best at - which is nothing! I don’t get the corporate policy. Why keep these people on payroll and layoff or push out genuine talents?! Weirdly self-destructive path.

Is it the "standard" offer (US)?
remain on payroll for 30 days - no responsibilities
30 days pay in lieu (to comply w/60 day WARN notification window)
4 mths pay (+1 wk/yr for each yr > 10 yrs service; +2 wks/yr > 20 yrs service)
PTO balance paid out
limited RSU acceleration
6 months COBRA

To those affected, good luck. Although I was affected last round and got very little sympathy from the unaffected, I will be the bigger person.

To the unaffected, I hope at some point you realize that you will be let go too. I know you’re probably saying “Yeah, yeah. I’m good at my job so it will never happen to me.” But take it from me and numerous others, that’s not how it works.

Back to the affected. I know it seems like the end of the world. But use your network and see what is out there. Chances are, you will find something better and get paid even more.

I've heard two dates 7/17 and 7/19, many rumors but some things ar emore certain now...

RTP CxC will be affected for sure, the execs rolled the dice and cast this in stone in late June - they want to dissolve RTP CxC and shuffle jobs to MX CxC...

Those folks were all pulled from accounts unless they were escalated to be saved - USB and Wells Fargo are two on that list. The folks in the CxC were told unsure of dates but packages were probably coming.

I wonder how many cut in this round gave a ^%%@ about the ones let go in the last round.

And those that survived this one won't care until it's their turn. Good luck.
