So, in these days, managers propose engineers for promotions and a director or VP is making the final decision on 9/5 (or a little bit earlier).
A manager has a budget and is finalizing the numbers for Bonus and Salary Increase by 9/5 (I assume that will need no Director or VP approval)?
Note to myself: take it easy for 9 months starting 9/6 :D

We talking like 40K for merit / promotions and 50K RSU. Is that reasonable? I’m guessing it depends on team size.
Yes, you can go over the budget if you talk to your manager and up to get approval. They might be able to find money for you from somewhere else.
