@2qtb Yup there are many Bennies at Ford who abuse their coworkers and subordinates. The PIP is a tool they use to control and humiliate the targets of their bullying.
They don’t bother with PIPs for garden variety incompetents/non-performers - those they just trade away / orchestrate a reorg that shuffles them elsewhere. Or they just do nudges that encourage people to leave on their own.
Most LLx don’t want the hassle of dealing with a PIP and just don’t give the person any work to do instead.
However some LLx are sick and twisted individuals. One LL6 despised Asians. She would create PowerPoints and then force the Asians to present and then mock them if they had troubles with pronunciations. And her word choices in the PowerPoints were intentional so that if they weren’t super careful it would sound like they were swearing. When they complained to HR she successfully convinced HR that she was helping them improve their communication skills. At our XMAS dinner she had quit a few to drink and we all heard how she really felt about everyone. It convinced me to find a new job asap.
