Zero Usage Lines - Not my problem or is it?

Today I was called in by AP because I had some lines last year that aren’t being used by a customer. I really didn’t know what to say to the interviewer except I suggested they call the customer and ask them why they aren’t using the 4 lines. I spoke with the customer last week as they needed some upgrades but never had a complaint and for a fact I know the customer is happy. I asked if I was asked to come to this meeting about only 4 lines and the lady said yes.

How is this bad or my fault? I cannot make the customer use their line, what am I supposed to do? Oh and by the way, I am now suspended?!

Mobility is notorious for adding “placeholder” lines on account for grouping reasons. SP’s in the Northeast do this on the norm, customers have no clue.

“Rules are rules” is absolutely laughable that’s code for if it impacts us negatively at a given time we can hold you accountable, but if it helps us hit our numbers at the end of the month we’ll turn a blind eye until somebody catches it…. Then oops wait guys and gals “rules are rules” the Mid Atlantic way. It’s always CYA when it hits the fan, who cares who you sc--w over or impact in the process. Blah blah bs same song and dance.

Involuntary layoffs. If they can… they will. Just another reason to move on. The Mid Atlantic was scrambling over the last couple weeks since the reporting came out. Always reactive instead of proactive. Now we have to do group blitzes with sales managers since they can’t trust anybody to hit the actual targets the right way. The buying business tactics with credits and getting creative with the wording of the credits has finally come to a stop, so the results will suffer. Rethink possible.

Rules are rules..... Zero usage is a performance matter in which you will be held accountable.

I’m in BAT out of TN. My manager is just as confused as I am. They were insinuating that I was trying to make unnecessary commission. Very weird, um yes I was very happy to make the tons of money for 4 lines but I mean dang. They took my phone and laptop and then asked me to provide proof of the customer requesting the order. I think I may have an email from them but now I don’t know BECAUSE I DONT HAVE MY PHONE OR LAPTOP NOW!

In business sales, “Suspended” means waiting for HR, AP and legal to get the paperwork together to fire you. I would call COBC and report your boss for demanding you sell zero usage lines. Also, call EAP and talk to a psychologist about how AT&T management pressured you to use these sales tactics. Then you can sue for distress if they fire you. I mean, when they fire you.

Suspended? Never heard of that! Are you in Retail Store or Cust Care sales?
Did you have a Union Rep?
Things don’t add up

I would have union representation present if it's available for your job position. Otherwise they will use some sort of biden excuse to walk you out.
