Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Lack of ambition is a handicap, not a character flaw

Some people are born with ambition, and some aren't.

Those that aren't born with it can't help it.

So there will always be people that do more work than others, but that's the duty of the ambitious - to do more work.

I don't know why Wells doesn't get this.

There were motivated and unmotivated in my loan processing group. One lady left her phone off the hook so she wouldn't have to take calls from bankers.

If corrupt executives like Carrie T went to prison, we still might have hope. But no, ambition means nothing at Wells Fargo. What we need is justice.

You know Michael Douglas was the bad guy in Wall Street, right? It was an Oliver Stone movie for Christ's sake. Media literacy is hard

The ambition gene sounds like the kissing cousin of race science. Good chance OP really is Charlie

Toss out all of your prior thoughts about what Wells Fargo, as a corporation, gets or doesn't get about any issues today.

The current cadre of WF senior management, from the boardroom down, has only one overriding goal now. That goal is the financial bottom line, how to increase it, and how it affects company shareholders. Case closed.

All the fluff about employee ambition, performance, ratings, rewards, WFH, RTO, etc. means absolutely nothing to the Executive Elite, except if it involves employee Reduction In Force layoff numbers.

We are not destroyers of the company. We are liberators of the company. The point is that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms, greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, will not only save Wells Fargo & Company, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA.

What OP meant was "Political Ambition". At Wells Fargo, you have to be super efficient at cheating, lying and brown nosing. It takes a lot of work to master the "greed is good" principle.

What a load of cr-p. Some of the most ambitious people do the least work. They hone their azs kissing, lying, and cheating skills, and it works very well for them. We all know them.

It's not that employees lack ambition, they all used to have it before Charlie came. Charlie and C-level executives stole ambitions from employees. Well, now I think about it, they are very good at stealing from everybody, including from customers.

Scotty, it’s time to put down the box of Twinkies & booze and go take a nap.

And then there's those who exemplify The Peter Principle, Charlie, which is more shameful than lack of ambition. That's why no one respects nor likes you.

Why work harder when you will either get slapped with a “meets” or even worse you are the one that gets bumped down on the curve. Lately wells hasn’t made it easy for employees to motivate themselves to do more.

Too late, all the ambitions, career goals and dreams of employees have been already deprived by Charlie. What do you expect?
