Very Few Employee Jobs Nowadays

Here's the headcount request questions:

  1. Can an India SOW worker do it?
  2. Can a Vz India contractor do it?
  3. Can a Vz India employee do it?
  4. Can a US SOW worker do it?
  5. Can a US contractor do it?
  6. Why do you think you need a US employee? Please justify.

Their strategy is ~20% US employee, ~40% US non-employee and the rest India. They're intentionally eliminating 4 out of 5 US employee jobs.

It's easy to say it's a bad economy or DEI or whatever, but the reality is these companies claim to care about the community but actually hate the people that make up the community.

The US could pass a very simple law - the percentage of US employees must match their percentage of US revenue. That would solve the oversees outsourcing and greed and eliminate these staffing companies collaborating with companies to scr*w people by hiring them without any job security.

@9ugs+1pigLEzo- I've been at every one of my union meetings for the past 6 months trying to say the same thing. No one will listen to me. They won't let me speak anymore. Everyone walks away from me. They're all in denial. Everyone just blames verizon for hating their customers. I wish I lived in a right to work state so I could quit the union.

The myth of the American worker is just that.
A myth.
It's been a looooong time since the American worker was worth the salary they demand.
From a cost standpoint, a customer has to call an offshore rep 25 to 50 times for the same issue for an American rep to be worth it.
The ratios are different, but the story is the same for every situation presented in the OP (and more).
Until the value of the American worker is increased, VZ will be outsourcing everything they can.
This should by the top priority of the unions and the entire American workforce.

Let the down votes come.
They won't change reality.

Can an India SOW worker do it?
No.
Can a Vz India contractor do it?
No, maybe 5 or 6 can make something work, but not properly.
Can a Vz India employee do it?
No, they’re too busy spending their kickback.
Can a US SOW worker do it?
Probably, but hastily and half arsed.
Can a US contractor do it?
Yes, but they’ll milk the clock smoking a J in their truck or between calls.
Why do you think you need a US employee? Please justify
We don’t, the stock price and customer losses are irrelevant, we’re saving money on our failures.

Problem is also leadership mentality.... I've heard too many times when there is a budget crunch.... 'What can we off-shore?' That drove me crazy every time those words were spoken....

I first noticed this going on shortly after HV took over and began noticing job postings being posted on bulletin boards in obscure buildings where most employees would never see them. Then of course in pops a brand new H1B or someone who is not an American. This is a disgrace what has been done to this company. Fortunately, it looks like there will be a couple of opportunities to sell in the next few months before the next cratering in stock price as T-Mobile connectivity gets better and better in New York and New Jersey.

They're wonderful people. Just need better leaders than their own leaders who abandon them. Once a leader tell them to work together, work together to organize their surroundings, clean up neighborhood, setting up sustainable food and water resources, manage their housing and up the quality of housing, which all can boost work productivity, then they will be the next super economic power.

H1b visa problem would take care of itself. Many get them from staffing agencies and then move to employees. Also, the India 'connection' would no longer be relevant. I don't discriminate against what's already happened. They're here and just trying to make a life for themselves. But we could start to change the ark of what's happening.

The US could get rid of H1B visas since there is no shortage of STEM workers in the US.

The US could heavily tax US companies who outsource American jobs.

On paper, Indian contractors/workers may seem cheaper. But you get what you pay for. They usually replace 1 American worker with 3 Indians.,They rotate the Indians every 6 months so they can avoid missing a project deadline. Which they never make/meet.

Additionally, the business execs and politicians who make these decisions to outsource, get huge kickbacks from the Indian government and Indian contracting companies.
