Most of you won't be with AT&T within a year. Some will be fired, some will be laid off, and some will leave on their own, but I'm guaranteeing you that the majority will be gone. There's no point in getting invested in what's happening with the company since there's no longevity here anymore. I can understand people caring two or three decades ago, but not anymore.

The data comes from offshore
Yawn
Where do you think the data in those spreadsheets comes from?
People here for 11 years doing sql and python are the prime target to replace and churn. If you are serious about a career here you need to pivot to a director level. Like it it not spreadsheets and power points is where it’s at.
11+ years. Sql and python baby love it
“ It’s in my core to do my best work but I have to actively remind myself to chill and that I won’t be here so the fire drills REALLY do not matter. My supervisors are getting paid $50k bonuses so they can do the remainder of the work for that much.”
This! So for those that are surviving the current round of layoffs, let us be instead of trying to squeeze every ounce of work from us. We need to also deal with what’s going to happen after our last day so the last thing that matters to us is your project.

Everyone always claims top performer, blah, blah.....I was not a top performer cuz I sent too much time helping newbies and my manager. I am now gone girl but that's okay, I took all my knowledge with me.
So, the OP didn’t say their situation. Were you laid off? Are you quitting for another job? To say”most” simply isn’t accurate. I’m 3 years to retirement so what are my options? Find a job paying the same at my age? Not likely. I’m invested by working harder than anybody on my team in hopes I not on the bottom of the list. If I’m laid off anyway that’s out of my control but I’m not just going to give up - that’s not who I am.
Nothing says competent better than complaining about a manager.
How can we not be invested. It’s where the money comes from.
Tell us something we don’t know!
There is not a single employee that comes here for layoff news, needs to be reminded of the dead horse.
If they get rid of the underperforming there won’t be any managers left.
A majority are invested since employment options aren’t good outside of AT&T.
Get rid of the underperforming.
It’s becoming a virtual network and many engineers will be gone - of course. Look up Sinch/ATT IP voice agreement.
If you’re in your mid 40 s or later and think you will survive here you just don’t get it yet. But you will !
Within a year, T will be a non-physical entity, existing only as a hologram in the Metaverse.
And you're posting here, but you aren't "invested"? Probably, "consumed" would be the better terminology.
